Vehicle Detail
First of all, please check my feedback and realize you are dealing with an honest, reliable, long standing member of the Ebay community. You are bidding on my 1962 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport. My wife is due with our second child in July and I'm going to have to let this project go. I bought this car last fall, and I drove it home and into my shop and it has sat there from that day untouched. It has a clear Kansas title and it is a true SS car. The Cragars in the photos are no longer on the car, however, I will include a matched set of aluminum turbine mags and a decent set of tires for transporting. Car will need to be trailered as is but is a runner with very little work. This Impala was originally white with red bucket seat interior, car was repainted red at one time and then white again. It has all of the correct engine turned pieces (exterior and interior trim) as well as the grab rail in front of the passenger seat. Currently the car has a non-original 300hp small block (I think it is a 350) with 461 double hump heads, dual plane intake, rams horn manifolds, etc. It is currently a 4 speed car (not a Muncie), but car was originally an automatic and has been converted to a 4 speed. Engine ran good when I bought it a few months ago and the car shifted great and the clutch was smooth and worked perfectly. I drove this car 30 miles home and I parked it and took the gas tank out and started on the front brakes. I have a brand new gas tank and sending unit ready to install from Impala Bob's. I also have a very nice front disc brake kit that will be included and it is partially installed, I can finish that in a few hours. Now for the not so good. The car has rust, mostly underneath and behind the front seats. The left frame rail just behind the kickup has rust through. There is also some rust in the rails under the trunk. It will need patches in the trunk and lower quarters. As far as the body is concerned, all of the rust is below the belt line. The car still sits straight, doesn't sag, and drives just fine, but the rust will need to be addressed eventually. I tried my best to photograph the car in great detail to show all aspects of the car both good and bad. I have nothing to hide. This is a highly desirable car and worth the effort, restored they bring $20K and higher, way higher in some cases, so there is plenty of headroom in this car. I can hold the car on my property for 2 weeks to facilitate the winning bidder. I might also be able to get the car drivable to load onto a carrier without too much work, but might ask for a little compensation for my time. Please contact me if you're wanting to go that route as my time is limited due to my wife being almost 7 months pregnant. I have more photos of the car that I can e-mail or you can view them on my Photobucket page here: http://s1044.photobucket.com/albums/b449/rexdaddy/1962%20Chevrolet%20Impala%20SS/ and I will gladly provide my phone number to serious parties. I have priced it to sell, so you might want to contact me sooner than later.
