Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a dealership would ask for this car by eliminating most of the overhead expenses they pass down to you. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally drive it so that I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this car based on how it looks and drives. The information contained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. Rather, the goal of my description is to relay my experience driving this vehicle so you feel as if you'd driven and looked at it yourself. If you would like to have the vehicle professionally inspected by your mechanic or yourself, please let me know and we can arrange a time for you or your mechanic to meet me at my storage facility. I make my entire inventory available for anyone to come kick the tires. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All vehicles are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". I do not recondition or service any vehicle unless specifically stated otherwise. Any known fautls are fully disclosed in the description. Please read the entire description carefully before bidding. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 1998 Nissan Altima that has only had ONE OWNER since new. This one is the popular GXE model and is tan with matching tan interior. The Nissan Altima is a great car. I have owned two personally and sold several. I would rate the body of this Altima as AVERAGE. Overall, the paint has a great shine and looks very good. There is a dent/scrape on either side of the car as if something maybe backed into it. The paint is not broken so they are hard to see but they are there. There are a few scuffs and scratches on the bumpers from normal use. One wheel cover is missing ($10 at a local salvage yard). All of the tires have good tread on them. The glass is all in tact and looks good. Again, this is a good looking car in average used condition. The interior of this Nissan is very clean. The carpets are clean and full. The head liner is in tact. The seats show barely any wear and are comfortable to sit in. I would rate the interior of this Altima as ABOVE AVERAGE. The wood trim looks good. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work as they should. The stereo has been upgraded with a CD player and sounds good. The climate control works as it should and the A/C is ice cold. The only bad thing I can think of is that there is a small plastic trim piece missing around one of the door handles but it's barely noticable. The truck is clean and spacious. A full set of manuals are included in the glove box. Mechanically, this Altima is in pretty good shape. The mighty 2.4L engine starts right up and runs well. Nissan has used this engine in everything from sedans to sports cars including trucks and SUV's. As long as you keep the oil changed, this engine should easily go 200+k miles. The suspension and steering are nice and tight. I would replace the front brake rotors. There is a noticable amount of pulsation in the brakes. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly. During my time driving this car, it drove pretty well. The engine kept nice and cool and there were no warning lights on. Every once in a while I could feel a slight miss in the engine. This happened to my wifes Altima at about the same miles as this one has. The distributor is driven from the camshaft. Oil can leak into the distributor causing it to not fire. A brand new distributor can be expensive for this engine. I bought a good used one for about $100 and the problem never came back. The leak on this one is pretty mild compared to my wifes Altima but the distributor should be replaced before it gets worse. Out on the highway, she drives nice and strait with no pulling or shaking. The engine makes great power and accellerates the car easily. Overall, this is a great car. With only one owner and low miles, it's definitely worth spending the $300+- that it would take to do the brakes and distributor considering that one could expect to drive this car another 100k miles with simple routine maintainence. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
