Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a dealer would ask for the same vehicle because I cut out most of the overhead expenses that they pass down to you. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally drive it so that I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this car based on how it looks and drives. The information within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. If you would like to inspect any vehicle yourself or have it professionally inspected my your mechanic before bidding, just ask. We can set up a time to meet at my storage facility so that you or your mechanic can look over any vehicle in my inventory. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. You are bidding on a wholesale vehicle that has not been serviced or reconditioned unless specifically stated otherwise. Any known faults are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully before bidding. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1996 Lexus ES 300 finished in green over tan. These cars are famous for their quality and reliability well over the 200k mile mark. The car offered today could use some TLC. I would rate the exterior of this Lexus as BELOW AVERAGE. There is noticable damage to the hood and cladding on the left side behind the front wheel. The roof is scratched heavily and the front and rear bumpers are faded. In addition to this, there are the usual dings and scratches that can be found here and there as you walk around the car. The windshield is cracked. Fortunately, that's the worst of it. From a few parking spots away, the car doesn't look bad. The rear tires probably have another year left...the fronts look newer and should last a while. This would make a great driver for someone who travels a lot for work, ect. They ride great on the highway and are good on gas. If I were buying this car, I would drive it the way it is until it blows up...but that's just me. I just can't see spending a lot of money on a 200k mile car to make it "pretty". The interior of this Lexus isn't really in bad condition for the miles. I would rate the interior as AVERAGE. Each of the seats are torn on the stitching lines. The carpets and headliner are very clean. The door panels are clean and tight, too. To my knowledge, all the buttons work (windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof) as they should. The climate control appears to be working properly and the air conditioning is ice cold. The radio has been removed. I found it in the trunk but the faceplate is missing. Plan to buy your own CD player. The one I found is a Pioneer so the wiring already there should fit a Pioneer. I will include the CD player I found in case anyone can find a use for it. The trunk is large and pretty clean. It looks as if there are wires already ran back if you plan to upgrade the sound system with subwoofers, amps, ect. I've seen better interiors but this one is still very comfortable to drive in. Mechanically, this Lexus appears to be in good running condition. The 3.0L engine starts right up and runs quietly. The engine has a slightly rough idle but with the hood open, you can clearly hear a vacuum leak which is most likely the cause. I didn't look for the source of the leak but any mechanic should be able to find it in minutes. Out on the road, she drives pretty well. Her road manners at highway speeds are decent for a 200k mile car. The engine doesn't appear to have any leaks. It runs nice and cool and there were no warning lights on. The transmission shifts fine. I didn't feel any real issues in the suspension or steering. The front brakes need replaced. It feels as if the rotors are pretty warped. The brakes are the one thing I would do right away. On the upside, it is PA inspected through the end of April, 2012 so a PA buyer would have about 9 months to pick at anything needed for inspection. I am pretty sure the windshield and brakes would fail. Beyond the obvious, I don't know what else it may need for inspection. I've done my best to talk this car down. This car should be good for at least another 50k miles with regular service.
