Vehicle Detail
The last auction ended with a Buy It Now from a hacked Ebay account. You are bidding on my 2001 Honda Accord EX-L Coupe in Satin Silver. I am the second owner since 2007. It has 172,xxx miles. I drive it almost every day, so it will have a few hundred miles more than the pictures. It is a manual transmission car with power steering, ABS, 6-Disc in dash CD changer, power windows, rear spoiler, splash guards, both driver and passenger air bags and AC (which works very well). The paint is shiny and shows very nice. There are no dings or dents. The only reason I am selling it is to honor a deal with my wife that if I got a new car, I would sell this one. It runs great and gets 32 MPG at 75 mph and 36 MPG at 62 mph. I drive it to work 43 miles each way. It has been ultra dependable and I have serviced it fully. In fact, in the last 4 years, I have done the following: Timing belt Clutch 100K service spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, dist. Cap, rotor. Front brake rotors and pads – recently AC high pressure hose ABS controller computer Rear right ABS sensor Both rear wheel hub and bearing Leather gearshift knob Genuine Honda Gear Shift boot Thermal R&D Stainless exhaust AEM cold air intake Genuine Honda Floor Mats Genuine Honda Trunk Mat Now we get to the bad part. Last year, when I replace the exhaust, I had a local shop do the work. When they tried to separate the catalytic converter from the resonator, they used an air chisel. They made a gouge in the surface of the mating flange. Long story short, now, air leaks out of the area where the resonator and catalytic converter mate. This is causing a check engine light to come on. I have verified from Honda that this is causing my check engine light. I have priced out the part and it is about $350 (Magnaflow - W/Ca emissions) for the catalytic converter. The flange could be fixed, but why spend $100 to repair a catalytic converter that has 171K miles. Also, the car needs tires. The tread looks fine, but the sidewalls have developed cracks. Tires are about $450 installed. This is the only thing I would do before driving it a long distance. The wheels also have scuff marks and scrapes but they roll and balance fine. This is not a perfect or new car. It is a great reliable car that I am sorry to sell. Please don't expect it to be 100% perfect. You are bidding on a used car. I will answer all questions, so please ask first before bidding. If time permits, I can show the car at work in Morristown, NJ this week by appointment. By bidding, you are entering a contract and I expect it to be honored by the winner of the auction. I am only accepting CASH at time of pickup. So, no, I wont ship the car and take checks, paypal or anything other than CASH. Payment is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. As I am selling this car locally as well, I reserve the right to end this auction early if the cars sells locally.
