Vehicle Detail

Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle from one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over retail by eliminating the overhead expenses that the bigger dealers pass down to you. I personally test drive each vehicle so that I can tell you how each one looks, runs and drives. This description is my honest opinion of this car based completely on my test drive. The information contained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be confirmed as I am not a mechanic. Please ask any questions that you may have about this or any of my vehicles. Personal inspections are also welcomed. I sell with NO RESERVE regardless of profit or loss. All vehicles are sold to you wholesale direct...no reconditioning, no games. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Any known faults are fully disclosed. Please read the entire listing before bidding or asking questions. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very rare 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL 500. This represents the last of the big body Benz's, the coupe version being the best of the best. Think about it...sedans and convertibles are a dime a dozen. When was the last time you saw a full size coupe drive down the road? These pillerless coupes have a timeless beauty and command a presence everywhere you go. Whether you're driving an '89 560SEC, a '99 CL500 or an '09 CL, you can rocket down the road or pull into a parking lot knowing that you are driving a vehicle that few people can say they have had the opportunity to own. These were the most exclusive models offered and their price reflected that. This was easily a $100,000 car in 1999. I would rate the exterior of this CL 500 as AVERAGE. The brilliant silver paint looks good over all. There is a thin spot on the trunk and some scratches here and there. Of course, it is a used car so it isn't perfect but is a very good looking car! Remember, although this is a very nice car, it is not a Bentley, it's not a Ferrari and it's not a Shelby Mustang...it is just a 12 y/o Mercedes with average wear to be expected for a car of this age and miles. Please be realistic with your expectations. There is NO RUST on the body of this Mercedes. The bullet resistant glass is in tact and has been professionally tinted which looks great. This CL has also been upgraded with 18" Mille Miglia premium wheels that show a few scuff marks. The tires have good tread left. This Mercedes would look great in anyones driveway and should command looks and compliments wherever it goes. This car represents a time when a Mercedes was a Mercedes, not a Chrysler. They were big, expensive and apologized to nobody for it. I've owned two S-Class coupes, two S-Class sedans and an SL roadster of this generation as well as several E's, several C's and an old 560SEL. I drive a 300E every day. I am passionate about these cars and love to pass on a car of this caliber from when owning a Mercedes-Benz meant something. Join the few who can say that they have ever had the pleasure of owning one of these exclusive cars...and buy with NO RESERVE. I have been driving this as my personal car for the last few months and have put well over 1,000 miles on it. This car turns heads everywhere I go. I would keep this long term but I have the opportunity to purchase a Ferrari that I have had my eye on for some time now. I love this car but I have 30 others I can drive and I really want this Ferrari so it's time to pass this CL 500 on to the next owner. The interior of this CL 500 is in great condition. The black interior looks amazing against the brilliant silver exterior. Of course, this is a used car so it isn't perfect. There is a plastic trim piece missing and the plastic cover on the side of the drivers seat comes loose once in a while...otherwise, no issues that I could see. The seats show no visible wear and are comfortable and fully functional. Both front seats are heated. The wood trim in the interior is in excellent condition. The CL has a few extra interior wood trim pieces that you don't find in the roadsters and sedans. The Homelink system allows you to program your garage door to your car and eliminate the opener remote. Keep the dark windows up for privacy or lower all four side windows and relax, letting the breeze and your surroundings encompass you to complete the experience of owning one of these exclusive coupes. The climate control is fully automatic and operates as it should. The factory remote entry system works perfectly. I cannot get the radio to turn on. The fuse is fine under the hood but I believe there is another fuse on the back of the radio. I don't have the tools or time to remove the radio to check the second fuse. There is a factory CD changer in the trunk. This Mercedes is equipped with Parktronic front and rear parking sensors. The door closing vacum assist works properly. This car is equipped with high intensity xenon headlights as well as front and rear fog lamps. Just look at the photos! Mechanically, this Mercedes-Benz is in excellent condition. The V8 engine starts right up, runs smoothly and makes great power. The 5.0L engine holds proper operating temperature and great oil pressure. The suspension and steering both feel tight as they should. The brakes have been upgraded to cross-drilled rotors and stop the car well. Under braking, the car exhibits no brake noise or pulsation. Driving down the highway, this CL behaves very well and does not vibrate or pull to either side. Behind the wheel, you feel like the king of the road. It's very rewarding knowing that you can drive almost anywhere and be reasonably confident that you won't encounter anyone with a car like yours. The five speed automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts great. This one rides a little harder than I am used to. I think the larger wheels and low profile tires contribute to this. I haven't had anything checked out but I am not aware of any leaks. With just 115,000 miles on the clock, this Mercedes is barely broken in and should provide its next fortunate owner with years of satisfaction. If you haven't owned a Mercedes-Benz before, I would do your research before bidding. They can be very tempernmental cars to own and can be very expensive to service. A very competent mechanic who specializes in Mercedes is a huge plus. Parts rarely need replaced in these cars...rather, they need to be constantly tuned and adjusted. There is no such thing as a "perfect" W140 Mercedes. If there were, you couldn't afford it, lol. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
