Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over what a normal lot would ask for a car by cutting out most of the overhead expenses they pass down to you. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally drive each one so that I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based on my drive. The information contained within this descrption is true to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot me guaranteed as I am not a mechanic. The goal of my description is to relay my experiences with this car so that you feel as if you've driven the car yourself. Understanding that I am not a mechanic and cannot offer anything other than my own opinion, any potential buyer is more than welcomed to come look at any vehicle in my inventory. You are also encouraged to bring your mechanic if possible. Just email me and we can set up a time to meet at my warehouse so that you can "kick the tires" yourself. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. All cars are sold "as-is" and "as-traded". Unless specifically stated otherwise in this description, I do not service or recondition any vehicle. Any faults are fully disclosed. Please read the entire description carefully before placing your bid. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS sedan. Being the upscale cousin to the famous Ford Crown Victoria, the Mercury version shares its generous size as well as the magnificent 4.6L V8 engine with it's Ford sibling. This example shows pretty well. As you can see in the photos, it looks decent to the eye. I would have to rate the exterior of this Mercury as BELOW AVERAGE, though. This car may have been partially repainted sometime in the past. I don't know any specifics but there are a few clues. The two left doors as well as the left quarter are a slightly different shade that the rest of the car (not sure if you can tell in the photos or not). The drivers door may have been replaced. Again, I am guessing and have no specific knowledge of the history. If I am going to be wrong, I would rather be wrong in giving you a worst case scenario rather than trying to hide anything. Overall, the car doesn't look bad, though. It took me a few days to notice this. There are some scratches here and there, one or two having metal exposed. All of the glass is in tact. The optional alloy wheels give the car a very aggressive look. I am a huge fan of these cars. I drove this car for several days and I love it. The size is especially nice because I have kids to haul around and they have plenty of room in the back. The interior of this Grand Marquis is very clean. The leather seats show almost no wear as you would expect from a 55k mile car. The carpets and headliner are both clean. Both front seats are power operated and work as they should. The power windows, locks, mirrors and remote entry all work properly. The climate control works as it should and the air conditioning is ice cold. The factory stereo sounds great. There is a CD changer in the trunk but you will need to buy a magazine to use it. The trunk is huge, offering tons of room. These cars are perfect for long trips or if you spend a lot of time traveling. There really isn't anything bad to say about the interior. Mechanically, this car is in pretty good condition. The mighty 4.6L engine starts right up and runs smoothly. During the few days I've driven this car, it has performed very well. The engine never runs hot and holds perfect oil pressure. Accelleration is effortless thanks to the SOHC V8 engine shared with the Ford Mustang GT. The suspension and steering are both tight. There is a warning light on for the air suspension. This is triggered when the pump runs more than it should which means there is usually a leaking air shock. I just replaced two air shocks on a Ford Expedition for $100/ea right here on ebay. Labor is no more than a traditional shock. The brakes feel fine. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts fine. This car is at home on the highway and cruises with ease. I know many people searching for a Grand Marquis will be looking for a granny mobile that has only gone to church and back...I promise you, this is not that car. If you want a full sized sedan that you can stretch out and put another quarter million miles on, this is your car. They are perfect for business because they look good, can seat four adults (and golf clubs) comfortably and are very reliable. Fuel economy is respectable for a car of this size and they don't require special maintainence. This engine was used in Lincoln Town Cars and you see them everywhere with 200-300k miles still running. The advantage of this or a Crown Vic over a Town Car is that you get the great powertrain without all the electrical gadgets that are known to fail in the Lincolns. You're basically getting a luxury police car. Police departments don't use these cars because they are junk...they use them because they run forever and can take whatever you can throw at them. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
