Vehicle Detail
This is my 89 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. It was designed and built by Pininfarina (the people who make Ferrari). Alfa is about to make a comeback into the US, so these cars are about to explode in popularity. This Spider is red with tan interior and black carpets. It runs well and it's really fun to drive. The steering may feel a bit stiff, at first, but this is true to form for an Italian sports car. It's one of those cars that no matter where you go or what you're doing, it's better because you're driving an Alfa Romeo. It's just a feeling, an instant that you can't get with anything else. The car needs body work. Like I said, it runs well and I know of no engine and transmission problems (you do need to shift softly into 2nd, but that is a trait known to all Spiders). It was in a couple of accidents (none of which were mine), one of which dented the right front wing and the other took out the left taillight and slightly bent the boot lid and dented the left rear wing. It has power windows, but the left one has a wiring issue, so it has to be raised and lowered manually. The air conditioning works, turn signals, lights, (low and high beams), windscreen wipers, ect. The interior is not in extremely good shape but it is comfortable. The leather is slightly torn on the seats, the carpet needs to be replaced, and the handbrake doesn't work. The top was bought in 1999 and is good (although there is no cover), but the car needs new rubber so it has a small leak in heavy rain. The radio, speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge don't work. The tachometer does, as does the trip counter. The original Alfa clock works, the battery (which is in the boot) and connectors are new. This would be a great project car or spare car. The body is in fair enough condition for a daily driver, but the inner workings are good enough that if you put them in a good Spider shell, you'd have a perfect Spider. They get around 42mpg and are actually quite reliable, almost to the Toyota level when properly taken care of, not to mention how much better Alfas look. I would recommend Royal Purple Oil for her (it is currently the best oil on the market and will last approximately 10,000 miles). Buyer must arrange for their own shipping. Payment for the vehicle is required within 7 days of the auction closing.
