Vehicle Detail

This is a Honda CB 550 Four with a sissy bar/luggage rack and a Vetter fairing. It has 6,369 miles. I have the title, manual, fairing manual, pdf service manual, and the original headlight. I got this bike from a family member who has had it in storage since 1978. He was diagnosed with Miniere's disease (vertigo) and he parked it for fear of losing his balance on the bike. When he parked it, he changed the oil and filled the crank with new oil (it still looks brand new if you check it) He also filled the tank with stabil. This has been my baby project but time and new projects keep appearing. I hate to lose it but I need more space in my garage. Current Status: Tank looks brand new inside, no rust. I don't have a compression tester but all cylinders will suck your hand tight to the rubber gaskets. I have a new battery that I just bought that is on trickle charge/float. All new spark plugs. The seat has no tears and looks good. The horn and signals all work. The tires are old but hold air and have plenty of tread. The bike has spark and all it needs is fuel. I bought a reconditioned set of carbs and have installed them on the bike. They need to be synced. I bought them off of a guy who restores the carbs. It has a sliver vein finish and looks nice. The bike runs. I have the old set of carbs you can use for parts down the road or sell. I have already cleaned them so the extra set I have just need a carb rebuild kit. (new jets and gaskets and you will have two sets of carbs ready to go) I have an extra oil filter to change the oil and I have the original headlight if you don't want the Vetter Fairing. Stuff to work on: I've shine on the chrome with never dull and 00 steel whool which has brought the shine back. There are still parts of chrome with surface rust (like the wheels) that need to be polished. The carbs need to be synced. The front brake will need some work as the fluid is now gell in the master c. Eye Sores: One of the side covers is cracked and been hot glued. You can't see it is cracked until you are close to it. I've tried to show this in the picture. The original owner put jb weld on the end of the left upper tail pipe (he said it was rusting and I guess he didn't know about chrome polish) The tank has a dimple on the top and has been scratched towards the bottom. I'm not a paint guy so I don't know if they can be buffed out or not. I live about 1 hour from St. Louis, MO. You can pick up the bike locally. I've never shipped a bike so I'm clueless on how I would proceed as of now. Upon the end of the auction, I will need a downpayment of $100.00. I will need full payment upon arrival by a cashiers check or money order (something with guarenteed funds). If you need pictures of something specific, I will try to help you out. Email me if more info or pics.
