Vehicle Detail
** Relisting and adding Salvage to the vehicle history to comply with eBay rules. It seems the vehicle has a salvage history going back to 1998 ** Very rare 1985 ASC McLaren Capri convertible - only 254 made in 1985. This car is being sold as a parts car since I do not have a title and cannot guarantee one at this time. It was last titled in 2007 in NC but has been setting for several years. The car is in overall good condition. It has a 5.0 V-8 that runs good and an automatic transmission that shifts fine. The brakes are not working properly. The body is in good shape without any dents or rust in any structural areas. The interior is in rough shape but does include the original Recaro racing seats. Has original steering whell with 5.0 SC in center. Does not include the original radio. The top is in fair shape but will need the plastic windows replaced. It is missing the mechanism that holds the top in the trunk but has the original switch. It still has the brass plate on the passenger quarter that shows the serial No 060 and Design by Peter Muscat. It has 15" Progressive wheels not the original BBK wheels. Nice car for someone who needs alot of these rare parts or maybe attempt to get a title. You can send me a message with any questions. On May-06-11 at 17:44:09 PDT, seller added the following information: ** Update to NC DMV information ** Checked with DMV today and found out the car has a lien on the title. I attempted to contact the registered lien holder in Greensboro, NC and discovered they are out of business. The DMV clerk advised me all I had to do was send a registered letter to the address (which is no longer there) and when it was returned unclaimed then they could release the lein. I have sent the certified mail to the address. They advised then I could secure an indemnity bond for $495.00 which should cost about $100 at most insurance companies. The last step would be for NC DMV Enforcement to perform an inspection then a title application could be completed. I am still listing it as a parts car but this information does seem to suggest a title is not entirely out of the question if the winning bidder chooses to complete the above steps. I wanted to make this information available for full disclosure as it was known. Thanks for viewing my listing!
