Videos Available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViAZA9QnG0w and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw9dZm_FQ40 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe (289 V8), Rare Front Bench Seat. 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe, Candy Apple Red VIN: 6F07C301929 Built in 1966; Dearborn, MI; C Code Engine 289 2V V8; Unit Number 301929. 499,751 Total Coupes in 1966, 21,397 with Bench Seat. Only approximately 4.5% of coupes made in 1966 came with a front bench seat. Mechanicals: 289 V8 Engine and C4 Automatic Transmission were rebuilt approximately 30,000 miles ago. Both run very strong and could be used as a daily driver. Engine has a 4 Bbl Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold. Factory dual exhaust. Front brakes were just rebuilt with new wheel cylinders and brake shoes. Most of the fluid was flushed and replaced. The radiator is in good condition and there are no coolant leaks throughout the cooling system. The engine runs cool in the city as well as on the freeway. There is a little oil coming from the oil pan but should be fixed by a replacement gasket. The suspension is in good condition, I think it has the original leaf springs but the shocks have been replaced. Brand new Costco battery and voltage regulator, no known electrical issues. * The odometer is past its mechanical limit and currently shows 30806 miles. I do not know what the true miles are for this vehicle and the title reflects this. I would guess it has 130806 but am not sure. Ebay forces you to put a mileage so I used what the odometer reads not true mileage. Body and Paint: Body is straight but there are several areas that have rust and need to be replaced (see photos). Paint was redone approximately 10 years ago by an amateur and has since oxidized in large portions and needs to be redone. It was repainted the original color (Candy Apple Red). The window tracks need to be rebuilt and only the driver side window will roll down. Interior: The interior is mostly original and in good condition for its age. It has a rare front bench seat that has a tear on the drivers side but foam is still strong throughout. Rear bench is in good condition and shows very little wear. Carpet is in good condition for its age. Overall: This Mustang is in need of some TLC but has a really strong engine and transmission and runs great. I have driven as far as Hagerstown, MD (Approximately 2 hours) in this Mustang and had no issues. I have also used it as a daily driver for a week or so at a time on several occasions. I wanted to rebuild this Mustang but am moving do to a job transfer and will not be able to bring the Mustang with me. Mechanically this vehicle is in really good condition, the body needs some work and the paint needs to be redone. I am selling this Mustang cheap enough that there is plenty of profit left in it for you after the body and paint is done. It would be a good project vehicle to finish and sell or enjoy for yourself. Time has run out on this project for me and now I have to pass this piece of history along. This vehicle is sold as is. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge. If you want to inspect the vehicle yourself before the close of the auction contact me and we can arrange a time and place near Columbia, MD. Final payment is due within 7 days. If you have any questions please let me know. Good Luck.
