This is one exceptionally clean VW. This bus has spent most all of it's life in the California valley so it's been incredibly well preserved. This is not another rust bucket with fresh paint over it, this bus has almost 0 rust on it top to bottom and never has. The floors are clean and solid, the body is straight with very little body work ever done to it, all doors open and close properly and line up like they did in 1971, all original glass ( small chip in passenger side of windshield ) every door and hatch seal is brand new along with all pop top and roof rack rubber seals, it even has new front door window trim, felt and rubber, new window tint on back windows, one key opens all doors and hatches,and all windows work properly. Recent work done to this bus include, all new interior wood paneling, including pop up table and sink cover, beautiful vinyl and tweed upholstery, new exterior paint ( color sanded and buffed to a nice smooth finish ) new canvas for pop top, new canvas for child cot, all new fuel lines, new front brake lines, new battery, new starter, new ignition switch and bosch relay for a sure start at any temperature. Recent valve adjustment and compression check ( averaged 117psi per cylinder ) new fuel pump, and new carburetor. The 1971 front brake upgrade included disk brakes with vacuum assisted power and what a difference it makes! It stops much better then previous years. The steering is tight and dose not drift around at any speed, the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears and dose not pop out of gear under stress as some do, the engine starts right up and runs great. All headlights, turn signals and tail lights work properly. I also have a few parts that will be included but did not make the pictures. The front bumper guards are painted and ready to install and I have the original mosquito net for rear hatch door. This is a extremely clean bus and will make someone very happy for years to come, but please remember before bidding that this is a 40 year old VW and not a new car. There are a few things that the new owner will probably want to do, like, Needs a new stereo Still need upper cot canvas The sink pump is broken and probably a couple other little things that I cant think of or don't know about.. I just want to be clear that this is an amazing 40 year old Westfalia and you don't come across rust free examples like this one very often, but it's not perfect. Good luck and happy bidding!
