Vehicle Detail

Oh do I hate to have to get rid of this car. I had big hopes for it but never found the time. I bought it 2 years ago with the intent of completely restoring it. The previous owner stated that the engine had recently been rebuilt. It was bought out of California so the rust was not out of control. It ran like a champ when I bought it for a few days and I changed the fuel filter and it never started after that. Like an idiot, I let it sit saying I will get to it tomorrow and by the time I got back to it, the battery was dead and I lost interest. It has sat in my yard, covered for the last year so it has been out of the moisture. This was my High School dream car so I wanted to go back in time and fix it up but never found the time. My loss is your gain. Honestly, I think all it needed was a carburetor rebuild kit on it and it would be fine. The engine ran perfectly when I got it. This is an amazingly rare 1978 z28 Camaro, 350 automatic transmission, project car. The body is in pretty good condition except for some minor dings. However during a recent wind storm a branch landed on the rear spoiler and damaged it. The interior needs work. It is not in too bad of shape considering the age but it does need carpet, headliner and some other minor things. Like I said, I had intentions of restoring it so I had already started purchasing items for it. I will include them all such as new window, door, truck rubber seals, several pieces of exterior trim, brand new battery and a coolant overflow tank. Even though it is not running currently, I don't think it needs much to get back on the road. For those of you that want to completely restore it, this is the perfect car for you! I am currently selling this car in a classified ad so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Serious bidders only please! On May-02-11 at 13:21:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions about this car that I will address. I don't know if there are matching numbers nor do I know how to tell, sorry. All the glass is good. There is some trim around the door frames and windows that is missing off the car but I purchased new trim to put on it that is still in the box. The rubber seals around the door and windows needs to be replaced but I also have new seals to put on it. I keep the car covered at all times to help protect it from weather and from rain leaking in the doors due to bad rubber seals. I have them but I just never got around to it. I have also been asked about door sagging and the doors open and close just fine. No problems there. I am not aware of any holes in the floor pans at all. There is some rust on the car but not much considering the age of it. Keep in mind that this car has spent most of its life in California. Actually, the upholstery is not that bad, even after sitting idle for a few years. If it was cleaned up and some mechanical issues fixed, this car is totally drivable. Like I said, when I first bought it, I drove it all over for a few days and the next day it never started. The engine didn't ever get hot and the oil looked fine. I think it was something as simple as a carburetor rebuild kit at the time. I'm sure there may be other minor issues now that it has been sitting for so long. If you plan on transporting the car from here, I would suggest putting it on a trailer to do so. This is a great start for a project car and is really not in too bad of shape to start. I will really miss it! Good Luck!
