Bought this from my mechanic a little over six months ago, it's been a solid car while I've had it. Forest Green 5 speed manual 260K miles Brand new timing belt/water pump (as of early March) New rear suspension last October A few coolant issues have been addressed since I bought it. Aftermarket stereo with aux input Interior is beige, looks like new. I've never seen a car this age so clean, and I've kept it that way. Exterior has some faded spots on the roof and a cracked bumper. Purely cosmetic, so I wasn't worried about it myself. This car was owned by a professional VW mechanic for almost its entire lifetime before i bought it. I believe he purchased it in early 2000. As expected, it's been maintained beautifully. Now that it has a fresh timing belt and suspension it's in just about perfect mechanical condition. From what I know of this generation, apparently they often have electrical issues around this age - this one ran into them early, so he rewired the entire vehicle with a BMW harness. It's been a great car, I had a heads up from the mechanic about the issues it had when I bought it and they've all been addressed.
