Vehicle Detail

1995 Toyota Previa Van SC (Supercharged) with blown head gasket, possible cracked head, 160K miles. AWD. Everything else mechanical in excellent condition. Almost new Michelin Harmony tires (215/65-15). Very minor rust. This is my brother's van and I'm trying to sell it for him. The story is my brother noticed last week his van did not start very well and ran rough. He noticed coolant leaking out of his exhaust when he arrived at work. On the way home, he stopped at a grocery store. When he went to start it again, a large amount of black exhaust came out of the tailpipe and he heard a "pop", like something blew. He sputtered home about 3 miles and had it towed to the dealership. The Toyota dealership said it would be a minimum of $3k if he had just a blown head gasket and up to $5k if he had a cracked head. So for towing, I would think a flatbed would be necessary to protect the transmission. It is still sitting at the Toyota dealership, but it will likely be towed by to my brother's house this week. Here are some details about recent maintenance (within a year): New brakes, rotors, calipers: $1500 cost Replaced drive shaft: $600 Other details: There has been some professional rust repair around the rear wheel wells and some paint touch up around the roof line where the clearcoat/paint thinned down to the primer. My brother is very picky about washing/cleaning/maintenance. There is no rust visible underneath. There are no tears in seats or cracks in glass. Last winter, the van slid into guardrails and scraped a corner of the bumper and scratched the hub caps (passenger side). I also think there is a small dent on one side where a deer ran into it. If you look carefully at the photos and zoom in, you should be able to see the damage. My brother always changed his own oil every 3,000 miles or less. He uses Valvoline (non-synthetic). The belts and hoses have been changed multiple times. The maintenance has been performed by a Toyota dealer.
