Vehicle Detail
Hello, Up for sale is a 1976 Candy Apple Red Chevrolet Corvette (with T-Tops). The car has been meticulously cared for and has always been garage kept since I became the 3rd owner in 1995. A complete engine rebuild completed less than 10,000 miles ago; With the recent rebuild, this specific car offers an owner the best of both Worlds. You get the powerful and elegance of a beautiful 1976 Corvette; and the drivability and reliability of a modern day car. The entire engine rebuild was all completed at 122,100 (131,110 now) and including the following: - Brand New Carburetor - Brand New Pistons - Brand new Intake - Brand New Plugs and Wires - Brand new Fuel Pump - Brand New Water Pump - Bran New distributor Cap - Original Block was used (unmodified) - Original Crank was used (Turned .0001 inch or 1/10,000th) While rebuilding the engine I had the exhaust rebuilt which included: - Brand New Catalytic Converter - 2 Brand new Mufflers (sounds just right) - Brand new Stainless Steel Exhaust Additional items replaced at engine rebuild time: - Brand new Heat regular (distributes heat into car when heater is on) - Brand new Fan Clutch (Radiator Cooling) The reason I put the words “brand new” as many times as I did, was because every part above was purchased new, and was not taken a from another vehicle, not obtained from a junk-yard, or any other way other than a brand new part purchase. No expense was sparred on this engine rebuild. I also have the original Corvette intake, carburetor, and Chrome cover for distributor cap that I can give you. I also have some additional Corvette accessories such as a full car cover, a T-Top bag, and a quick cover for the T-Top area if you run in a store with the T-Tops off. The T-Tops are very easily removed and do not stick or leak. The T-Tops storage bag can easily be placed/stored behind the seats. The car surprisingly does well on gas mileage, as long as you keep your foot from constant heavy accelerating. I always used 93 octane (you don’t need to do that though), and have frequently changed the oil using only full synthetic. In addition to the engine rebuild the car also recently has had the following done: - 2 brand new tires in the rear, the front tires still have several thousands of miles to go before they will need to be changed. - New Brakes, Rotors, and Calipers put on back wheels about 6 months ago, new pads put on front wheels at same time. - Modern CD player, with an auxiliary/IPOD input, that sounds very good. Will also give you the original 1976 Corvette Radio that I held onto when I replaced the stereo. - Car has 4 speakers, 2 original Corvette speakers on the front dash, and two Harman Kardon cube Speakers that sit in the rear (as mentioned- does sound good) - The car has a factory alarm that can be armed with the key. I also have 2 sets of keys that I will be providing with the car. Issues: The only known issue is that the car leaks transmission fluid, I am not certain but believe this is due to bad front seal or coming from the transmission pan cover. I believe you could be just fine regularly adding transmission fluid (as needed) or have the issue fixed. Additional note, I have been a member of the Virginia Corvette Club since 1996, and was President of that club for a few years. I have always taken very good of all my cars, and especially pampered and loved any corvette I ever owned. If you pay in full for a flat-bed or any other form of pick-up and delivery service, I suppose I could have this car sent anywhere you wanted. I could be mistaken, but I think vehicle transporation service runs around 600 dollars. Other than you paying in full for delivery of the vehicle using such a service as I mentioned, the vehicle would need to be picked up somewhere in Lynchburg, Virginia. Please let me know if you have questions about anything at all and thanks for looking.
