1981 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler RARE!!! The Jeep (CJ-8) Scrambler was a pickup truck version of the CJ-7, introduced in 1981. It featured a 103-inch (2,616 mm) wheelbase and a pickup bed. Only 27,792 were built in the five years of production before being replaced by the similarly-sized Comanche. Here are the production totals: 1981 : 8355 1982 : 7759 1983 : 5405 1984 : 4130 1985 : 2015 1986 : 128 <- actually 1985 leftovers. ------------------ total = 27,792 CJ-8’s ever manufactured This jeep was a rust free jeep from Texas that was professionally frame off restored and has been meticulously maintained since then. It has been garage kept, washed weekly, waxed monthly, and never off-roaded. This vehicle runs great! It has a strong engine, smooth transmission and transfer case. The four-wheel drive works flawlessly. The V8 upgrade was definitely well worth the time, effort and money. I have tons of pictures loaded on PhotoBucket. FEATURES: Made in Toledo Ohio All metal body, all original The entire Jeep was media blasted and all parts were individually painted before reassembly. The entire jeep was seam sealed during reassembly. The jeep is under coated. All mounts and bushings were replaced with brand new at time of restoration. Stainless steel bolts were used when possible. There are 3 coats of Imron paint. It was Color sanded then 4 coats of clear applied then buffed to a high sheen – almost a mirror like quality. AMC 304cid V8 Engine - rebuilt at time of restoration Edelbrock Chrome Engine dress up kit Engine features Edelbrock performer intake manifold. Edelbrock 4bbl Carburator Oil has been recently changed & radiator recently flushed and changed. Recently changed the fuel pump, distributor cap, new spark plugs, premium plug wires, new coil, new ignition box & new battery. Borg-Warner T-4 (4 speed) Transmission Dana 20 Transfer case Dana Front & Rear Axles The interior is beautiful yet simple The entire interior was LineXed. No carpet to get damp or musty. Tilt Steering All Gauges, Lights, Indicators, Fans, Heater, Vents work as they should Has a Pioneer detachable face radio. Folding Rear Seat Catch-All form fitted Floor Mats 2 Sets of doors - Each has its own set of strickers - no hassels to switch out the doors. One set of full metal doors - completely restored with all new gaskets and seals. Windows roll up and down perfectly One set of half metal doors - completely restored with all new gaskets and seals. Full Hard Top Bimini top - Brand new, made by BestTop, only installed once Windbreak with clear plastic window - Brand new, only installed once. Canvass uppers - Brand new, NEVER installed ARC recovery bumper on the rear. WARN 9500lb Wench - New, never installed Has a small lift to accommodate 33” tires with Micky Thompson aluminum Mags. Tires are practically new Has Nerf bars with step. Chrome grill cover for use in cold weather.
