Vehicle Detail
This classic has been rebuilt completely by the previous owner, who sold it to me because of failing health. He has since passed on. The odometer now has 25,000 miles on it. 5 new tires. Seats upholstered. This vehicle is a frame up restoration with modifications. The original Ford 289 engine and transmission were replaced with a Ford 302 engine and a 3 speed plus overdrive transmission. The 302 engine was removed from a wrecked 1979 Ford F150 pickup. The truck had 4000 miles on it when it was totaled. All sheet metal parts were dismantled to the smallest component, cleaned, sand blasted or acid cleaned in preparation for painting. Each component was then painted with Dupont Imron Urethane Primer and Dupont Imron Urethane top coat. All components were removed from the truck frame. The frame was then sand blasted, painted with red oxide primer and top coated with Dupont Dulux black enamel. The front axle king pins and king pin bushings were replaced with new ones. New spring slider bushings and shackles were installed. Front and real axles were cleaned, primed with red oxide primer, and top coated with Dupont Dulux black enamel. Under frame screw lift spare tire carrier is installed. Stainless steel brake lines (aircraft quality) were fabricated and installed. An additional frame cross member for transmission support was fabricated and installed. Four 302 engine mounts were installed on the frame. Transmission cross member modified for easier service of clutch and transmission when necessary. 19 inch tires and rims replaced with 16 inch radial tires and rims. (LT235/85/R16 tire size). Custom fabricated rear bumper trailer hitch installed. All new electrical items are individually fused, and circuits are similar in quality and design to general aviation specs. Installed: cruise control, variable speed electric windshield wipers, back up lights, hazard lights, spot light, glove box light, dome light, courtesy lights, under hood service lights, auxiliary power plug for trailer lights, electric door locks, electrical adjustable seats for distance, height, tilt. A wagner hydraboost power assisted brake master cylinter is installed. Master cylinder is of a split design separating the braking action of the front brakes from the rear brakes. An adjustable proportional brake valve is installed. This feature allows for the changing of relative brake resistance between the front and rear brakes. Very useful when towing. An oil cooler for power brake assist is installed. A tilt and telescoping steering column is installed. All rubber gaskets are replaced. Door window channels, grommets, an rub strips are replaced. Door rubber gaskets replaced. All seals, grommets, and rub strips in engine compartments replaced. Philippine hardwood bed liner installed. Hard wood rails are fastened to a 1/2" plywood base. Bed liner may be flipped in order to provide a smooth surface for sleeping bags.IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, OR WANT TO SEE MORE PICTURES, PLEASE CONTACT ME!
