1965 Mustang Coupe V8 C4 Automatic Transmission Built in San Jose, CA California Car Factory C-Code Receipts and documentation dating back to 1976 VIN: 5R07C11838 Engine runs nice and strong. Has a steady rumble from the dual chamber 40 series flow masters, a real head turner. The C4 automatic transmission shifts smoothly, recently rebuilt, and was serviced April 2011, in which the transmission pan was replaced and new coolant lines were added as well as new o-rings, and a new transmission filter. The 289 engine has been bored out to a 302, recently serviced the mechanic noted it has excellent compression in all cylinders. The engine compartment is graced with an Ofenhousen intake manifold, headers, deep sump high performance Shelby oil pan, Cobra valve covers, Mallory distributor and Monte Carlo bar. Newer Monroe gas shocks front and rear. New 4 bbl Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor, new battery, starter, fuel pump, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and voltage regulator. In the restoration process fuel tank was removed, cleaned and baked before re-installation. The radiator was pressure tested for any leaks, cleaned and serviced before re-installation. The interior is in excellent shape and very clean, the rear bench has new foam and upholstery, front bucket seats have pony detail that was spot re-upholstered, no rips or tears. New Instrument bezel, all gauges appear to be in working condition, New speakers in the front and rear, new sun visors and rods, New door panels, all windows roll up and down smoothly, the headliner is in good shape, however has a loose seam above the back window(see picture). New steering wheel, with working horn. The exterior paint has a new 2 stage base coat clear coat done Feb 2011. Car has been garage kept, had no rust prior to the paint job, no bondo was needed or used. I was under the impression some minor dings were going to be fixed, however the paint shop must have forgotten that detail. I tried to take pictures of the dings, but they didn’t show up well in the pictures, there’s a small ding in the passenger door where someone’s door must have hit it in a parking lot, and a small ding on driver side rear quarter panel. There is also a small blemish in the paint next to the driver side mirror (size of a pea) (see picture). The paint was polished professionally April 2011, and looks like glass. The trunk has new weather-stripping as well as the front and rear glass. Hood has new rubber bumpers, as well as the doors and glove box. All of the chrome has been polished, but bumpers show some usual surface pitting. All lights and blinkers work. Trunk is clean with new mat. BFG tires have great tread, however has some cracking. Front glass was replaced but had some previous scratches from wiper blades not related to this vehicle which may be able to be polished out. Please note, this mustang is non matching numbers as it is not the original motor. Drum brakes all around, stops well, with no pulling. This Mustang has been in the restoration process for 5 years, has been gone through from top to bottom paying attention to every detail, with receipts backing service records from most recent to 1976. This Mustang has been very reliable and fun to drive!
