You are looking at a 1997 BMW GS R1100, a very nice modle , I had this bike for about 4 years and have put some 2500 miles on it since, riding occasionally in the Texas Hill country . It runs great as I have had it serviced when I bought it first by a very good BMW machanic . There was an issue with the clutch at the time that he at some parts replaced and had no problem since . I have added a few things to it ; Touratech engine guards and have replaced the old seat with a BMW seat that I bought on Ebay that has never been used . Have changed the oil once a year disregard of millage and kept the battery charged . Tires are good , I dont beleive they have many miles on them . Battery is good , and all the switches work . I beleive you have to hold the clutch on this modle before you start ? you also cant start it on the side stand . The engin runs great and sounds smooth . Transmission shifts as it should and brakes work fine. There are some little blemishes here and there and I will try to make a list of them . Gas tank looks beautiful and shiny , there is a little quarter of an inch black mark next to the BMW sign on the right side of the tank- hard to see , I think it may be black paint from touching the trailer in transport - no dent . The front fender ( the beak ) has a few scratches on it showen in the picture. the brake fluid containaer misses a plastic that goes on the holding braket . The hand gurds are kind of faded but in good and strong physical shape. It comes with the original saddle bags and the saddle bags have a few scratches , they both fit the rack fine - just the lucking part does not work on one of them . You can get on this bike and ride and go anywhere with a current registration that is expired at the moment . I did not renew it as I was planning to sell . Please ask any question that I have missed listing the answer here . I rode the bike this last week end for 150 miles , runs great and brake work fine , lights are blinking for some reason ? need to check the fluid and see if they stop blinking .
