Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on this re-creation of the Classic Sc/Rambler that has been signed by: David Landrith, Chuck Miller, Paul Hatton, Walt Czarnecki, Shirley Shahan "DragOnLady" David Landrith "American Motors, Hurst, gone..... Not as long as we live and breath" As it goes.... Puttering in the garage with my son and good friends, discussing cars, as those of us from "back in the day" tend to do on occasion.Eventually one of us brings up the good old times, the glory days, the days at Hurst, AMC and alike. The race teams, the stylists, the concept people, the now iconic names of the past.Hey wait a minute, past, what's that supposed to mean?! We're all still around and as long as we are the legends live, right?!The idea here is to build them again but not an identical replica, better, more fun, todays version... A NEW VISION So we set about rebuild a sc/rambler. Took it down to the bare bones then blasted, sanded, re-wired, painted, etc....The rambler had 68,000 miles on it (yes we bought it from a little old lady) AMC 390 V8 (under 250 miles on this engine)5 Speed Transmission - The original sc/rambler prototype had 4 speed trans.Hurst Shifter (of course)Leather Bucket Seats Front and Leather Back - The sc/rambler prototype had vinyl bucket front seats and vinyl back seatDisc Brakes on all 4 Wheels - The original prototype we added front disc brakes as an upgrade to the ramblerElectronic Fuel Injection - The original prototype had a 4 barrel carb.15 Inch TA Radials - The rambler had 13 inch tires and when we did the prototype for the sc/rambler we upgraded to 14 inch wheels and tiresChrome WheelsSpecial thanks to Steven Stull for the best hood scoop recreation out thereSpecial thanks to Amark for the fab emblemsLast but certainly not least Rick Fritz and Smitty - without whom we would never have accomplished Now a little bit about the men and women listed aboveAs their accomplishments are wide and far reaching so I will try to stick to the basics as pertain to the build and production of this car back in the 60's David Landrith President of HURST PERFORMANCE and VP of Hurst Corp. Research and Development.David has sold several AMC cars from his private collection to James Garner of the Rockford FilesDavid also ran the prostock race teams for AMC which included the great Shirley Shahan "DragOnLady" and HL ShahanMost of you know that Walt Czarnecki runs PENSKE RACING and much more for Penske but back in the day he worked over at AMC for DavidChuck Miller designed the prototype hood scoopPaul Hatton did the pin striping on the prototype and production vehicles *I have included photos of misc items to illustrate the relationship to the people listed above. Although I can provide copies of some of them upon purchase I can not provide the originals.**copy/reprint of information contained herein is not allowed without written permission*** We will refund all monies paid minus our cost for listing/insertion if the car is not as statedOn Apr-20-11 at 08:27:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added many more pictures of the car interior, motor and underbody - please look for them by clicking the link below http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z474/investit/ScRambler%20Tribute%20Series/DSC_0231.jpg Additionally - I have some neat signed photos of the car from an event last year, if you would like one send your email address to invest_it@yahoo.com Help me advertise the car and add it to your Face Book page by clicking the button on the listing This car is a recreation, not a clone or an exact replica. The actual "69 1/2 Sc/Rambler prototype was done @ Styline Customs (Chuck Miller's place) Hurst did not have a paint shop out here to do the prototypes so many of these cars were done @ StylineYou can find the original prototype of the Sc/Rambler (which was a 1968 two door sedan) along with many others in Chucks book On Apr-21-11 at 19:34:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I have very exciting news - This car has been offered a spot at the Woodward/Chrysler/AMC display for the Woodward Dream Cruise 2011!!! Now its not mandatory to have the car there but it is an extra special bonus and an honor to be asked to display on the most prominent corner of Woodward for the largest cruise in the Nation. ****** Per the Auction we would still require payment in full ten days from Auction close so please come inspect the car and if you want to attend Woodward Dream Cruise we will make arrangements with you at close and accompany you to the event (also a great time for pictures)****** Woodward Dream Cruise takes place August 20th 2011 so mark your calendars! If you need more pictures of the car please send your email address to invest_it@yahoo.com
