Vehicle Detail
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering traded in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over retail by eliminating most of the overhead expenses that the bigger dealers pass down to you. Before listing a vehicle on ebay, I personally drive each car so that I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. The description you are about to read is my honest opinion of this vehicle based completely on my time behind the wheel and my observations about the car. The information contained within this description is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and ability but cannot be guaranteed as I am not a mechanic and am not qualified to make statements beyond my observations and experience. I welcome personal inspections by yourself or your mechanic prior to bidding. Just email me to set up a time that suits both of us to meet ay my warehouse. I will gladly answer any questions about this or any car I have. An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Remember, you are buying wholesale direct with NO RESERVE. Unless specifically stated otherwise, I do not service or recondition any vehicle. You are buying exactly how I buy. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a tank of a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300E. The midsize 300 series cars are arguably the best cars Mercedes ever made in terms of cost of ownership, reliability and size. The are brilliant cars but aren't over engineered. They are simple and easy to maintain. This one is a medium brown color with complimenting tan leather interior. I would rate the exterior of this car as AVERAGE. It is far from perfect but you will find some scratches here and there as you would on most 20 year old cars. I couldn't find any rust on this car which is a major factor with older Mercedes cars. All of the glass is in tact. The tires are pretty worn. I know the fronts will need replaced. You may be able to get another year out of the back ones but I would shop around and find a good set of used tires if I were in your shoes. A used set can be had for between $150 and 200 for all four depending on how new they are. Otherwise, this is a decent little car. Unlike most I list on ebay, this car has been my daily driver for the last five months. I have put close to 3,000 miles on this car with no trouble. The interior of this 300E is also in AVERAGE condition for a 20 year old car. The seats are all in great condition and have no rips or holes that I can think of. The carpets could benefit from a good cleaning but they aren't too bad. The headliner is in good condition. This is a very comfortable car to take on long trips. Several times a month I find myself driving to Baltimore (at least an hour each way) to pick customers up at the airport. I usually take this car and it is very comfortable on the highway as well as around town. Over the winter, I let this car sit in favor of 4wd and the battery died so now the radio needs the "code" to play. I don't have the code but it can be gotten from your local Mercedes dealer or even a garage that specializes in Mercedes may have access to it. The climate control system works well but the A/C will need charged for the upcoming summer months. The central locks work as they should. The power seats and sunroof work. The rear windows won't go down for some reason. The fronts are fine but I don't know enough about these cars to mess with the back ones and it didn't bother me that much sitting in the front. The truck is huge for a car this size and fits a ton of stuff. The wood trim is in good shape for the year. Mechanically, this car just won't quit. The 2.6L inline six fires right up and idles well. These engines are known for their simplicity and reliability. They make good power and love to rev high. Again, this car has been my daily driver since the beginning of November of last year. I have put close to 3,000 miles on her and she has never let me down! I use it both around town and for longer trips of several hundred miles strait with no problems. ***please note that the word "tow" written on the windshield does not mean that there is or was a mechanical problem. sometimes I drive this up to auction and take a different car home. if I let any car up there too long, they will mark the date and write then tow it if I don't move it by the next week*** It runs and drives just like and older Benz. If you aren't familiar with these vehicles please do some research before bidding. They are very reliable and easy to maintain but they can be quirky. An alignment should be done. It does pull to the side a bit on the highway which is why the front tires are worse than the rears. There is a hole in the muffler that makes the exhaust louder than it should be. The brakes are okay but should be replaced soon. They feel a little thin to me. The suspension and steering are pretty tight. The transmission shifts are very firm which these cars are known for. Like I said, if you don't know these cars please do some research on them before you bid. Overall, this has been a great car and has been very reliable car for me. It has never let me down, ever! I would drive it anywhere without a thought. It gets over 20mpg mixed driving and close to 30 highway. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
