Vehicle Detail

OK where do I start! If you are reading this then you may already know they only made 4,700 or so of these puppies in 1973! I have heard that there are only 1,200 to 1,500 of these things left! Much more rare then a Torino, and better looking in my opinion! This car has ONLY around 91,000 actual miles on her and it shows! I got it from the 2nd owner who got it from the original owner. Why am I selling? Boredom, no ability to love or care much about anything made out of metal or plastic, who knows! I always wanted one of these, so sometimes when I don't have anything going on with work I will buy something and then sell it. Look at my feedback, you will see that I DO NOT sell junk and ALWAYS give good description of what I am selling. Tire kickers and low ballers move on to your next thing, because I could care less if she sells and I do NOT need the money! The previous owner was a mechanic (and you can tell!) It has 500 miles on it since the following was done. Rebuilt 351 Cleavland (I do not know the year, and I will not lay under the car looking for stupid numbers) New edelbrock carb, intake, air cleaner, Ford racing valve covers, fuel pump, water pump, plugs, hoses etc.. TCI c-6 automatic transmission and converter Headers and full duel exhaust(NO exhaust leaks) New front and rear brakes New American racing wheels and tires (I think they are ugly and if I keep the car will put magnum 500's on her Fresh POSI oil and drain plug added to rear end (factory 9 inch posi with stock 2.75 gears) B and M floor shifter (This was a stupid move in my opinion! I will put the stock auto on column shifter back on) I have the indicator and lever included in sale This thing runs and drives NICE! Now what I did to it! The car was brown! Sorry not for me! I had my good friend Mike (owner of Anderson's Custom Body Shop) of Menahga MN 218-564-5164 do a little bodywork disassemble and repaint ($750.00 worth of paint alone) in Ford 1999 Jalapeno Green Metallic pearl. Dupont paint. Basecoat clearcoat. And yes pretty much everything was taken off in order to do a nice job! Nothing is perfect but I would describe it as pretty nice! I then went to the inside and installed a new high quality carpet and floor mats and had the front seat redone along with the armrest pads! The headliner and dash and rear speaker shelf all look awesome! The inside is pretty sweet! When I removed the carpet I was very happy. Factory paint was still intact as it was in the trunk to!! Comes with the original window sticker! Purchase order! Warranty card! Build sheet! and owners manual! WOW!!! Also comes with the factory hubcaps and trim rings and 2 wheels. And 2 spare side glass and a couple of other trinkets. The doors open and close NICE! And the windows open and close nice! The factory 37 year old bumpers look pretty good for their age! You can't build a car like this for my Buy it Now price!!! ALL gauges (including tach) seem to work great as do ALL lights. Hec even the factory AM/FM radio along with 4 factory speakers still works! My auctions ALWAYS have a very fair and not inflated buy it now price! Many goof balls have lost out by waiting, and then someone hits the buy it now. To late, for the guy expecting to steal something! About the only thing I noticed is she needs a new heater core $23.00 (I will try to get one in soon, but am going out of town also) I will offer this car 1 time for now and maybe never again or maybe in 3 months, who knows. Reserve is close to the buy it now! This sucker runs and drives TIGHT and feels better then any old car that I have driven in some time. The underneath looks GREAT! You will like it! Please DO NOT hesitate to call me direct with ANY questions at 218-252-4828. I reserve the right to end this auction anytime I feel like it. Shipping is up to you but I can be there for your shipper to pick up! DO NOT bid if you cannot afford! The engine runs super nice, and I have not seen ANY smoke at all from the exhaust (I know the signs of and oil burner) blue smoke or a puff at initial startup. I have heard NO lifter noise or seen any thing that would make me believe this engine burns any oil. It is painted nice and I" am told was completely rebuilt and has app 500 miles on just like the tranny etc.. While in my buddies body shop (Was in there for 3 weeks, because I was gone out of state for over a week) I did not see any signs of any fluids leaking! And for your most important question. Yes the factory radio still works, and does so with the factory 4 speakers! Hec the rear window defogger still works awesome, and even the little on indicator light still works as well as the stupid seatbelt reminder buzzer. The car is not perfect or it would be double the money, but it is pretty darn nice! The paint looks nice and was cut and buffed pretty nice with minimal orange peel (less then most of the new crap paint jobs on new cars) The doors open and close sweet and do so on the orginal hinges and bushings. When prepping the car for paint, I found NO evidence that would make me believe the car was EVER in and accident (And I am pretty good) And if she does not sell it will not break my heart except for the fact I will not have alot of time this summer to enjoy it!! PLEASE NOTE: I just had a new heater core installed by the local ford shop. Said it took them 4 hours but only charged me for 2! Still cost me another $200.00 or so. I thought I would keep this car but I just bought a new Dodge Challenger! My BUY IY NOW price is way to low for a car in this class. DO NOT hesitate or you will lose out!!! At the BUY IT NOW price there are NO incentives at all and you are responsible for shipping. I could probably pick someone up at the fargo ND airport. Although I'm not and expert I have NO reason to believe you couldn't drive this thing to California or New York!! Thanks. Enjoy these are hard to find! Also includes original window sticker, purchase order, owners manual and warrenty card! Cool huh? Will add more pics tomorrow! Good Luck!On Apr-11-11 at 20:33:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note. All gauges and lights and horn (I think it is a rim blow horn, you can pull anywhere around the circle of the horn and it sounds) work, but I am not 100 percent sure on the gas gauge (just being honest) Please take note to look at 1 picture where the sun was out. This color really pops!!!! Again I HATE to sell this car, and when I pulled it out of the garage I actually had a brief moment of buyers remorse on the new Dodge Challenger (partly due to the fact the Montego is paid for and the Dodge isn't) Bummer! But she has to go because I can't afford to have so many darn toys (wife complains) Thanks and again DO NOT hesitate to call, and preinspection is welcome also without a problem if you so desire. Someone will be happy, trust me,On Apr-12-11 at 21:31:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note just for tidbits. While the car was apart waiting for paint I had the GT emblems and the shark fins(slats on rear quarters) black part repainted black so they would be nice! Just thought I'd let you know.On Apr-13-11 at 19:23:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: I reserve the right to cancel any bids. If you have a feedback score of less then 10 be sure to call me before you bid. And DO NOT bid unless you have the funds available. Wow all these watchers and 2 bids? Should I have bought a mustang? Sorry not in my lifetime! On Apr-13-11 at 20:14:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok could someone hit the darn buy it now!! It is certainly funny that my $40,000.00 Dodge Challenger has to sit outside in the rain and the Mercury gets to be in the garage (To mant toys, no room for 2 cars!) This really isn't a joke. But I'm seriously laughing because it is the truth! It is weird I won't protect my new car (hec they are all over) but I'll protect the old Merc, now that is funny and reminds a guy of growing up enjoying and having fun with the old cars! The Challenger stero is alot better then the Merc, but I will be reminded of that every month for a long time!! Do not be scared to bid and remember you are welcome to come look at the car prior to bidding! Look at my feedback, I take everything I do seriously. Thanks.
