He bought it from a private owner when the car had about 68,000 miles on the odometer in about 1990-92? My adult son owned and drove this car from about 2005 to 2006. This is listed as status junk with the Calif. DMV is being sold, strictly AS-IS, with no warranty except that of clear title. A mechanic examined then car in the fall of 2010, when he removed the steering pin, the ignition key is lost. Regarding the motor, after turning it over with a wrench, he said that with a new battery and an oil change, it should run.
