Offered for auction: MGB with pull out door handles, built January 1964, chassis number GHN3L28680. The car is fitted with a set of chrome wire wheels, which will probably with some judicious care come back to luster. This car came as a packaged deal with some other MG's I purchased in 2000. It is, no doubt, a rough car, but still a pull out door handle model. The body is in need of a total restoration, and so is everything else for that matter, but the body will be a challenge. The sills seems to be alright, as there is limited sag with the door open, while standing in the car. Now the standing part of this last comment needs some explaining as well. The floor boards are riddled with rust, and need to be replaced. The front fenders behind the front wheels also need plenty of attention. The "dog leg" panels behind the door are in identical shape. The rear of the car was pushed in, and needs to be realigned to regain its prior beauty. The bonnet is in steel and is actually white. The convertible top is missing, although the frame is the "stow in trunk" type. Surprisingly the seats are not too bad, and could actually be used in a "driver" without too much shame. The engine turns, although I have never tried to get it running. The clutch and brake hydraulics are dried up, and also in need of attention. I will assist the buyer with shipping, but would prefer a local pick up due to the non running condition of the car. So, what do we have here? A wreck or a challenge? It is up to you. The car does come with a clear title though... This car is sold "as is, where is" with no warranty actual or implied to any extend. Payment needs to be made in full within seven (5) days from the end of auction. Payment can be made through PayPal, wire transfer, or money order/cashiers check. If not paid in full within the specified time limit the deposit will become non refundable and the sale void. The MGB has been lingering in my barn since.
