Up for sale and auction is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am Mayan Red with Black Interior. This car has a GM 350 V-8, Rochester 4-Barrel Carburetor, Hooker Headers, Custom Dual Exhaust with Crossover Pipe, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Factory Tachometer, Black Bucket Seats and Console Shifter. I decoded the VIN at one time and found out this car was a California, Factory Air Car and is the original Mayan Red with Black interior. All the AC components have been removed from under the hood and the original 6.6 Liter has been replaced with a 350 V-8 and the 350 V-8 just so happens to be era correct for 1979 and GM did produce 1979 Trans Am's with 350 V-8's. This car was previously owned by a lady that drove it every day up until one year ago when I got it and then parked it in the garage. Has 142k original documented miles. I was planning on keeping, except for now my plans have changed. It is currently being used right now as a daily driver. This car runs and drives excellent, sounds great, very dependable, turn key and you can drive it home if you'd like. The car has some rust in the battery tray area and some light surface rust inside the trunk (see pics), other than that the car is virtually rust free. This 32 year old has normal door dings, scuffs, scratches and the paint is thinning in places. The lights, wipers, heater, and brakes all work. Tires are excellent condition, tire are BFG's all the way around and are a little wider in the back with chrome American Racing Wheels. The windshield is cracked, headliner is missing the material, tachometer does not work and catylitic converters were not installed when new exhaust was put on, because car was registered outside of emissions area.
