Vehicle Detail
This is my baby, my pride and joy... I bought this truck when it had 158k on it and it's been such a good truck to me. and i've been all over the country with it. it's seen nothing but interstate since i've had it. she has a lot of miles on her but still looks good and has been well taken care of, as hopefully you can tell. A lot of people have mistaken it for a newer year because of how clean it is. And as anyone who knows about the 7.3 diesel can tell you; this engine is known for going 700-800k miles before the engine needs work. although it's not at those numbers yet, and it's got a lot of new running parts, i can imagine this being true with how smooth and strong it still is. With the size of the engine and with the Banks system, you will literally be able to pull anything you put behind it. It always had power to spare for what i pulled. Another great thing is you can fit 6-7 adults comfortably inside. I always kept a close eye on the exhaust gas temp gauge when pulling to never let it get very high. I try to baby my vehicles as much as I can. The rear leaf springs were replaced. A heavy duty reman transmission was put in by Ford in June of 08', so it has about 294k on it. I've always had routine services done around every 7k miles. just had a new water pump installed. I always changed the fuel filter about ever other service. The tool box i lined with rubber mat and has so much in it that i just decided to leave it all and whoever gets the truck gets whatever is in the toolbox. has a lot of tools, flares, triangles, liquids, 5" drop hitch, nice jumper cables, hydraulic jack, etc. Leather seats CBXM radio tuner w/ remoteBanks 6-gun systemCD playerpower driver seatboost, trans temp, egt gauges20k and 16k fifth wheel hitchestri ball hitchallow directional wheelsHarley edition mirrorsChrome grill, bug shield, handle, and fuel door covers4" stainless exhaustAFE air intakeScorpion bed linerProdigy brake controllerCobra in-mic CBPioneer speakersNewer glow plugs, gasket and relayremote startre-flashed computerover size turbocowl induction hoodamp hookups40 gallon fuel tank The 20k hitch is in the bed now, the 16k is a Reece that still has the stickers and a permanent nylon disc so you don't have to grease the fifth wheel. it's actually nicer than the 20k. It will go with the truck if you want it. I still have the sway bars for a trailer that will go with it but don't have the hitch for them any more. The front windshield has a crack ($200) was gonna have it replaced but it's not leaking or in the way (see pic). and the little info center in the roof console that says what direction you're going went out like they are known to do, not too long after i got it. Just installed two new batteries this past fall. It has a remote start for diesel engines that waits for the glow plugs before it starts. Really nice on cold mornings. The great heat, and the AC is cold, refrigerant topped off, but the switch is worn and needs replaced. NON smoking truck! still actually smells good (from armor-all and leather cleaning) The steering wheel has wear on the leather as to be expected, could be recovered. As far as the seats go, the driver's side is starting to crack but hasn't separated. Theres a little slit on the top of the console. The pass side, the leather is cracking but is all there. The rear seat, although it has wear marks from use, really hasn't had much weight on it so it still feels like new to sit on. Rare full length side step rails are great. Never installed the chrome rear end cover, it will come with the truck as well as a Jayco tire cover and sun windshield reflector. It doesn't have the spare tire under the bed. I aso have two (L and R) front rotors which are about $250 a piece to buy. They're still boxed and will go with the truck. The rear end was completely redone by Ford at the beginning of this past August. They installed a complete new master gear kit. I still have the old gear parts if anyone wants those. Had Ford install a new alternator this past fall cause the old one gave up the ghost. I also had Ford re-flash the computer with the new operating system and now it shifts easier and waits longer between shifts which is a lot better if you're pulling anything behind you. Gives you more power going into the next gear. Also has AFE Magnum Force air intake. I'm sure there's something i'm missing but if you have questions just ask. I tried to put a lot of pictures up so everyone can see everything.. The buy it now price is a steal at the 'fair' condition price of the truck on Kelly Blue Book. Basically the 'fair' value for a 'good+' truck: http://www.kbb.com/used-cars/ford/f350-super-duty-crew-cab/1999/private-party-value/pricing-report?condition=good&id=5476&equipment=209361%7ctrue%7c209412%7ctrue%7c209470%7ctrue%7c209504%7ctrue%7c209428%7ctrue%7c209434%7ctrue%7c209443%7ctrue%7c209440%7ctrue%7c209454%7ctrue%7c209458%7ctrue%7c209466%7ctrue%7c2729987%7ctrue%7c209476%7ctrue%7c209476%7ctrue%7c209520%7ctrue%7c209553%7ctrue%7c209533%7ctrue%7c209555%7ctrue%7c209566%7ctrue%7c209571%7ctrue%7c209587%7ctrue%7c209566%7ctrue%7c4237434%7ctrue%7c209566%7ctrue&mileage=579000 It's really close to excellent condition but probably is in the good category. This is a great deal though, for whoever gets it. Also, all four tires in the back are basically new at 90-95% of tread left with only a little over 4k miles on them, and the front two have about 55-60% of tread. these tires always got around 80,000 for me with keeping the right tire pressures, so they should be good for a while. so that's another expense that the buyer won't have to worry about. Truck is topped off with fluid, a fresh oil change, detailed, and full of fuel so you can just drive it home. and i realize everyone is worried about i once got 21 miles per gallon with it but average i would say has been 16-18 mpg which is really good in my opinion with 7.3 liters of power under the hood, but that's probably because it's a diesel.. i wouldn't hesitate at all to drive to California tomorrow in it. So even if you want to fly into Indianapolis and drive it home, you can do that. Its big and smooth and really is a beautiful truck. hopefully it will go to a good owner who will carry on taking care of it. Thanks for looking and good luck! Andrew
