Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE! Selling our 1985 Mercedes 280 GE G-Wagen. I'll try to be as thorough as I can on the description. It's a rare Gentian Blue, with a black interior. This Gwagen was legally imported by Europa International. I have current copies of the DOT/Customs Release and the EPA Compliance/Registered Importer letters. I have a current, clean, Arizona title, and it also has a current passing emissions certificate for the very strict emissions standards in Maricopa County, Arizona. It has 124,663 miles. It has the 6 cyl, 2.8L gas engine, automatic transmission, differential locks front and rear. Power windows, heavy duty front brush guard and pin bumper, rear tow hitch, roof rack bars, headlight guards. All 5 Michelin LTX M/S 32-11.50/16 tires are like new. New brake pads and shoes, radiator rodded and re-soldered, recent A/C aux fan replaced, recent battery, new tail light and fog lenses, new front turn signal/marker lights (originals were getting faded/cracked) The engine starts instantly and runs Mercedes smooth. Oil and Filter just changed. Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears, fluid at proper level appears nice and red with no darkening or burned smells. The transfer case shifts smoothly through all positions. There appears to be a very small oil seep from the transfer case output seal, it leaves a couple drops after sitting for more than a few days. Diff locks appear to be operating correctly when the levers are pulled up, but I can't verify they are actually locking or not without getting into serious off-road terrain. Black leather seats are in decent condition for age and mileage. The drivers side outer bolster has a 3" split in the outer seam that has been glued but could probably stand a recover. Passenger and rear seats are in great shape, door panels are nice, floorboards are rust free, rubber mats are intact/no tears, carpeted mats could stand replacement. Headliner is perfect. This Gwagen has the Europa installed power window kit, made by Electric-Life. I replaced all the center console switches, some of which were getting intermittent. All windows now work properly, however the drivers window is slow going up; replacement motors are still available from Electric-life. HVAC blower works great, the factory A/C needs to be recharged, heater works great. New Clarion CD player with MP3 and iPod interface. The truck has been repainted at some point, the paint is in nice shape except one small crack spot in a body seam, shown in the pictures. There are scratches in the top of the right front fender as if a careless mechanic had tossed tools there. No dents just scratches. They are not through the paint deep, perhaps they can be polished out. There is one tiny spot of paint bubbling in the bottom center of the front windshield frame, approximately 3/4", easy to spot clean and touch up. No other rust is visible, and the undercarriage is in great shape with no rust. On the left, rearmost body rub rail, the forward 3" of rubber has come slightly unglued from the embedded attachment strip. Original and 3 spare keys, door locks all operate correctly, even the factory Mercedes First Aid kit is present and complete. There was no factory owners manual when I bought the truck. There are some very small dings on the hood, and also one on the drivers door, easily handled by a paintless dent removal tech. The rear cargo door was lightly hit in the spare tire which pushed the door skin in enough that we had the entire rear door replaced. It did not damage the door frame/body at all, just the door itself. No other damage is apparent that I'm aware of. I've tried to be as clear and up front as possible in describing everything so there are no surprises. It's a solid Gwagen. Please ask questions, I'll do my best to answer. If there are areas you'd like a picture of just ask. The truck is available for inspection by the Buyer or Buyer's agent prior to auction close. All inspections must be completed before auction has ended, do not bid with the intention of then inspecting the truck and walking away. Please check my feedback and bid with confidence. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, I will assist Buyer in working with any shipper they choose. This is a NO RESERVE auction, no returns, all sales final, etc. Serious buyers only. If you do not have funds ready to go at time of sale, do not bid. I require a $200 deposit via Paypal within 48 hrs of auction close. Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. I accept cash, Cashiers Checks, or wire transfers only; truck and title will not be released until funds have cleared. If these terms are not acceptable please do not bid.
