Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 2000 Honda Interceptor VFR 800 FI. I purchased this motorcycle late last summer from the original owner. The bike was a garage princess, and had only 9000 miles on it when I got it. If you go on the VFR Forums (VFRDiscussion, and VFR World), there is a mechanic there that goes by SEBSPEED, he is the resident expert on these motorcycles. I took the bike up to him and had him go through every single nut and bolt, stem to stern. I replaced anything that I thought was slightly worn, whether it needed it or not. I have two kids and didn't want to have any mechanical issues at all. I paid cash for it and have a clear NY title with no liens. I'm am a mid 30's rider, and don't abuse my toys, adult ridden, Honda bulletproof reliability. Look around and you will not find a nicer one anywhere. I have done all the important mods to this bike for comfort, performance, and safety. It has fresh wax on it, always kept in my heated garage, chain lubed, fresh oil, brake fluid, needs nothing. I can't ride it down the street without getting compliments and thumbs up. This bike is a pleasure to tour with. I could ride it for 4 hours at a time, no problem. With the lowered foot pegs and Sargent seat, it was like rolling in a lazy boy recliner that could corner on rails if it wanted too. The front suspension is absolute top of the line, it has Racetech 0.95 kg springs, which are much better than the mushy stock springs. I also put Racetech gold valve kits in the forks to complement the springs, as I found the stock front suspension to dive under braking and corner entry. This set up makes hard jarring bumps a thing of the past, and is not only a critical performance mod, it is also critical for safety. This bike really is the perfect combination of sport and touring. It’s very fast and comfortable as fine furniture. It rails corners, but commutes peacefully. I went for a nice ride last Friday, and really hesitate to sell it, as I know I could keep it for another 10 years if I wanted to. I am selling because I have another motorcycle and don't need 2 of them anymore. Here is a list of mods I have done to it. 1. SUSPENSION MODS: Stock shock with only 9000 miles on it. Race Tech Fork Springs .95 kg Race Tech Gold Valves Kit (Forks) Fresh Fork Oil 2. COMFORT AND SAFETY MODS Sargent Seat Yellow Trim w quick release pinsThe most comfortable seat for this bike, better than Corbin, costs over $400 newPerfect, flawless, WAY better than stockComes with quick release pins to swap between solo and pillion seat ($40 add on). No more unscrewing the bolts to swap out, nice! Zero Gravity Dark Smoke Double Bubble Windscreen BEST windscreen for the bike IMHO Cuts wind, especially if you are taller, looks phenomenal, flawless Levers (Pazzo Replica Regular length adjustable matching brake and clutch) Pro Grips (New) Knight Design Black Lowered Foot Pegs custom built for the VFR Amazing Mod, no more cramped leg stretching during rides! About an inch drop from stock, makes a world of difference in comfort, looks cool too. I have original foot pegs if you want them, but trust me, these are way better Cruise Control Throttle Lock GPS Ram Mount For Mounting Garmin Nuvi GPS Navigation GARMIN NUVI GPS INCLUDED!! (How cool is that!) Silvania HID Headlights Super Bright, long throw beam, slight blue color, nice! Way brighter than stock 3. PERFORMANCE MODS Tires Bridgestone BT-021 Sport Touring Less than 1500 miles on these Erion Slip on Exhaust Pipe (Super Sweet Pipe, perfect for this machine) This is a gentlemen’s pipe, deep bass and throaty Not obnoxiously loud, but gets your attention at high Rpms Really accentuates the music of the V4 and the gear driven cams Turbo City Fuel Pressure Regulator Great Mod! Research this -- Acts similar to a Power Commander 3 Smooths out throttle, eliminates low end choppiness these bike are known for New Front AFAM Sprocket -1 tooth off of stock gearing Allows engine to rev quicker, a must on these bikes Gives you more low end torque, so you can get through the gears quickerMost VFR enthusiasts agree the bike really should have been geared this way stock, way more fun Fresh “Engine Ice” Engine Coolant Very expensive engine coolant, helps engine run cooler New EBC Brake Pads New NGK CR9EHIX-9 Iridium Spark Plugs, Iridium is much better than stock, lasts much longer too Fresh Amsoil Synthetic Motorcycle Oil and Filter New Steering Head Bearings (AllBalls bearings) http://www.allballsracing.com/ Much better than stock and something that should be changed every few years anyway for safety Wheel bearings inspected and looked great Speed Bleeders Makes changing brake and clutch fluids a 5 minute job You are changing your fluids regularly right? Fresh premium brake and clutch fluid Fender Eliminator Custom Made, looks so much cleaner than the ugly stock rear fenderNew Yuasa Battery New BMC Air Filter I will also include the stock exhaust, the stock seat, a TARGA smoked windscreen, and a bike cover. Stock shock (pictured) will be installed Wednesday, I am keeping my aftermarket Wilbers 3 way adjustable. FLAWS: Bike tipped over in the previous owner's driveway, very shallow small scratches on lower left fairing, mostly on the VFR decal, see picture. MINOR, can't even see it unless you get very low. The front of the forks have some small chips from road rocks (impossible to avoid on any motorcycle). Other than that the bike is MINT! You are welcome to come look at the bike before bidding, it is located in West Nyack, right by the Tappan Zee bridge, 20 minutes north of New York City. $300 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end, and the balance in 3 days. Please line up your financing ahead of time. Please no games. Don't bid unless you are serious. If you want it shipped, please make those arrangements ahead of time as well, but I will be happy to assist in any way I can. I can deliver within a reasonable distance. Please don't email me outside of ebay with a lowball offer, I am not broke or desperate. This is a fantastic bike, and whoever wins it is going to enjoy years of compliments and pleasure from it. I'm really sad to see it go, especially after all of the time, love, and energy I put into making it so special. I have pretty much eliminated all of the stock flaws with the mods I put on, so this will be a fantastic motorcycle for the lucky winner. Good luck! On Apr-01-11 at 18:01:45 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Here are some better photos of the stock shock professionally installed (and aftermarket shock removed, as per original listing description). And here is a better photo of the GPS and Mount. One of the pictures shows a suction cup mount, but the correct mount is actually cleaner, it just bolts right onto the two front gas tank bolts.
