Vehicle Detail
This classic Cadillac was originally purchased by Elvis Presley and given as a gift to Dr. Nicopolis. Historical documentation will be provided with the vehicle. The car runs good and is occasionally driven. It is in daily driver condition but needs restoration. There is minor damage to the left front headlight/fender area. The convertible top has tears caused by the lift mechanism. The convertible top mechanism works but was disconnected because it was causing the tears in the top. The top can be raised and lowered by hand. The interior is all original and needs to be replaced. The car also needs paint. The odometer and dash electrics (dash lights, radio, horn, brake/tail lights) stopped working recently. The electric windows, headlights, and wipers are all working. The car has been garage kept. There are no rust problems with the exception of some small areas of minor surface oxidation. An aftermarket radio and speakers are installed. The dash speaker grills have been cut out to accommodate the speakers. There is a crack in the dash on the driver side. The engine runs good and strong. There are no issues with the transmission. The tires have good tread but one has excessive wear on the outer edge. I bought this car ten years ago with the intention of restoring it. My finances never quite worked out to where I could do that. I bought it from Grammers Automotive in Memphis. They are a certified Cadillac repair service center and performed all service work for me. This car turns heads and starts conversations every time I take it out for a spin. It really drew attention when I drove around with the Simpsons characters in it! They are for sale also. You can find that posting under Simpsons Life Size Movie Display. If you are looking for a great auto to restore, this is your opportunity to get a really solid car. Big, convertible, and classic styling make this car very desirable. The Elvis connection will only add to its value. On Mar-29-11 at 19:14:50 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE READ: I posted this car for my son, the current owner. At the time he purchased the car he was told, or was under the impression that Elvis gifted the car to Dr. Nichopoulos. I reviewed the historic documents tonight (3-29-2011). The documents are: 1) a laminated photo copy of original bill of sale 2) a laminated photo copy of original certificate of title 3) a laminated photo copy of the Manufacturers Statement of Origin, 4) Original auction or sale card from Music City Classic with the comments "Purchased new by "Dr George C. Nichopoulos" Jan 1971, "Elvis Presleys Personal Doctor". All of the documents (with the exception of the mfg. statement of origin) show Dr. Nichopoulos as the purchaser of the car. Unfortunately I am unable to find any evidence that Elvis purchased or gifted this car. I have written a letter to Dr. Nichopoulos in the hope he will provide more information. I sincerely apologize for the misleading statement in the initial posting. If you have bid under the impression that Elvis was the original purchaser, I completely understand and will not provide any negative feedback if you wish to rescind your bid. If you believe the car still has value due to it's ownership by Dr. Nichopoulos, please continue to bid. Sincerely Dayglowsnails
