Vehicle Detail
1968 Fiat 850 Coupe Engine in good running order recently rebuilt by Fiat mechanic. Have driven car around local area and it runs well. Transmission in good order and shifts smoothly. Texas car most of its life. Minimal rust. Bodywork done on front of car to remove rust in that location by professional body shop. Also bodywork done on roof of car to remove some small dents. Ideal for mechanical parts for any Fiat 850 Spider restoration. Car is restorable, but does need significant interior and suspension work. Car can be driven within a short radius (let's say 50 mile) of Jacksonville, Florida. NO, you cannot drive it to California, New York, Texas, Illinois or anywhere in between, so don't ask. This is a 43 year old car that needs restoration or is suitable for parts for its 850 Spider contemporary. Car is worth more in parts than initial asking bid. Pictures tell much of the story, ask questions if you have any. You arrange shipment, car does run so can be driven onto a transporter/trailer. Payment by cash/bank check/money order within 10 days of auction. If you live in NE Florida area, arrangements to view car are possible. Sold as is, where is...no warranty which I'm sure you already know. On Mar-27-11 at 12:38:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Some more details about the car....the right side floor is in excellent shape, NOT rusted, it is in primer color. Driver side has been riveted/patched with aircraft aluminum, it will last 100 years. with The engine is the original (as it is a US spec car) 817cc as opposed to the EU version of 848cc to bring the engine below 50CID and avoid US emissions standards. I have some extra parts, mainly all of the suspension bushings which you will need. I also have new sets of tie rods and some other miscellaneous parts. Seats in the car are the original ones, they were covered with cloth and will need to be recovered. The interior needs new door panels and many small missing bits, such as the center tunnel. The back seat was not with the car when I bought it, it is a rather useless decoration anyway which is why I assume at some point it was removed. I don't have any bumpers, they did not come with the car. On Mar-27-11 at 17:27:04 PDT, seller added the following information: More important info...if you have feedback less than 10, or ANY prior report of non-paying bidder in your feedback, you MUST contact me before bidding, or your bid WILL be canceled. If you bid a second time without contacting me, you WILL be blocked from bidding. It is too much trouble for me to relist things because some morons are playing games on bidding, and is unfair to push up bidding for legitimately interested buyers because you are playing around. Again, if you do not meet the above criteria, DO NOT BID WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST...thanks. On Mar-27-11 at 17:32:05 PDT, seller added the following information: One more data point, car has a clear Texas title. On Mar-28-11 at 16:32:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Had many questions on this...car has very little rust, just small bubbles around the rear window and a few in the trunk area. NO structural rust anywhere, all floors/jacking points/rockers (they have been replaced with welded-in aluminum by previous owner) and suspension mount points are in good shape.
