Vehicle Detail
2000 Ford Explorer Limited Edition. This Explorer is an outstanding vehicle, very low cost to maintain. Has a great smooth running 302 V-8 backed by a 4 speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive! Its powerful and gets better mileage than most Explorers of this type. Vey stylish-this vehicle is a beauty. It's clean, shines nice, no rust, Quiet, powerful, runs like a dream. Factory tinted windows for duration, Wood trim interior. Hood guard-helps with bugs on hood & paint duration. Tons of bells and whistles including back-up warning (sound) signals, seat memory for 2 drivers that automatically adjusts seat settings (height up or down, forward, backward, tilt, lumbar, more seat position options), and heated seats-my favorites, and heated mirrors. Anti-theft system, remote keyless entry, optional auto on/off headlights controlled from the auto dimming rearview mirror. 3 great functioning displays-1 that shows gas mileage and miles left and gallons left; miles drives total or current and more--all resetable. Another for your temperature controls. The 3rd display is above the rearview mirror and shows temperature (F or C), direction (compass), and more. Leather Steering wheel controls inlude heat, fan speed, volume, mode and cruise controls (steering wheel shows a little wear-see pics). Rear seat audio and cold/hot air flow controls. And more goodies. We're only selling it because of the current economy-we are downsizing-dont really need 3 vehicles. We will miss this luxury ride, but because it's the best of our 3, we figured it would help us most to sell this one now. It's been owned by a mechanic-who took good care of it. The good: Tan Leather interior is in great shape, no rips or tears of any kind. No rips or cracks on the dash board. it has 171xxx miles on it runs like it has 70xxx miles. (mileage will change as we still drive it regularly to work, etc). Smooth shifting transmission that has been serviced about 2 months ago. Engine and transmission in excellent shape no issues. You can hop in and drive anywhere with peace of mind. Power windows and sun roof. Power driver and passenger seats that are HEATED. Power everything, and everthing works great. Automatic air suspension. New brakes front and rear. New front driveshaft. Replaced-has new drive shaft (because blew the cv joint last summer). A/C is freezing cold. Automatic climate control. Has new intake manifold heater tube, installed last summer. Has new right side exhaust manifold, last summer old manifold started leaking so fixed that with new manifold. (Left side exhaust manifold now leaking, but isn't affecting performance or gas mileage, $70.00 dollars at Autozone for new one). This vehicle actually gets great gas mileage for an all wheel drive Ford V-8. Message me with any questions. Has the factory Premium sound system in it still, and works very well. The only thing with sound system is-since before we owned the vehicle, it's screen doesn't work and the slide-in function of CD player is temperamentl but we mostly play our CDs from the multi CD changer-in the center console (lots of room in the console by the way) and it sounds great. System plays cassettes too & never stuck. Everything else is in good shape. Paint is outstanding like brand new no body rust. No leaks, no burning or smells of any kind. Just a plain out and out outstanding vehicle. Michelin tires that have at least 50% life left. All filters changed regularly and truck serviced at all regular intervals. The not-so-good: 1)Vehicle was up north before buying it and by bringing it to Florida, has a little chassis (the underneath of the vehicle) surface rust from salty roads, not much. Everything else is in very good shape under the truck. Has just a few of dings on passenger front door from the parking lot-causing no paint damage and only visible from certain angles. We tried to get it in the picture. 2) The bumpers arent perfect-they have some scrapes, chips, bumps on it--could be worse-nothing major. No body damage-see pics. 3) The 'issue found': it's with a narrow section of the back half of one of the running boards. Some one was backing up their trailer at night-thought they cleared our parked vehicle-and scraped off a small some of the plastic coating on the driver side rear running board while we were parked in front of our home. The driver just took off so we reported it to the police and found the driver. It did not do body damage-only the running board and a little inch or so of paint they matched on a fender flare. Their insurance's bodyshop got paid for 'fixing' it by placing some black plastic tape over it. It actually looked better when we took the tape off-see pics. Later found that the part can be found locally for about a $150. Its up to purchaser if they feel its actually necessary. See pictures to view how minimally it affects the esthetics. The pictures reflect the vehilce without cleaning it-you can get an idea of how it looks under daily use-wear n tear. Best Ford we have ever owned, sad to have to let it go but will be a wonderful vehicle for new owner. Have done alot of traveling with it and wouldn't hesitate to drive to Seattle and back to Florida. Just a plain outstanding vehicle. We're only selling it because of the current economy, we dont really need 3 vehicles. Who ever buys this Explorer should be extremely happy with it- as we have been. New owner is responsible for shipping. No warranties or guarantees. Mileage will change as vehicle is and will be driven daily until sold. Only seriuos buyers please. If you don't intend to own this 2000 Ford Explorer please don't bid. $500 dollar deposit due 48 hours after winning bid. (Timeframe is negotiable) Email us if you have Any questions or need some flexibility on the time.
