Vehicle Detail

A stunning 1966 white MGB with overdrive! Check it out: If you are interested in owning one of the best running, best looking MGB’s in America, then keep reading because here is your car. This is a gorgeous creation that has won two shows in the South in its class and received numerous second and third place finishes. The classic look of white and black and the white piping trim in this car is very elegant and along with the chrome, a real head turner. Here’s the fun part - this baby doesn’t ride there on a trailer. It flies down the road in rainstorms, 90-degree heat, over mountain roads, whatever – she’s a driver! Need proof? Go to > Killboy.com; Photos; select 9/25/10; Cars & Trucks > 4 pm; page 5; pictures 196-202. That day it tore through the 318 curves in the 11-mile stretch of the world famous ‘Tail of the Dragon’. For sale is a wonderful period correct car that has been totally restored and has so many upgrades and unique features that there is no way they can all be listed. I will try to list the major highlights, but feel free to email or call with specific questions. This car began as a restoration project in Jan 1990. The owner utilized a local British restoration shop that helped owners complete their projects. The car was completely disassembled and the body sand blasted. The floor pans and complete rocker assemblies were replaced. It also had lower quarter panels, oil cooler panel and hood latch panel and fender bottoms installed. The engine was rebuilt in Nov 1990 by a local machine shop. Rear axle assembly was rebuilt as was front suspension and all hydraulic systems. The car was painted white enamel and complete drive train was installed in the car but the owner abandoned the project in May 1991,then no one did any more work on the car for 8 years. I purchased it from the restorer in Feb 1999. Over the last 12 years, I continued creating this great car. It has been a true labor of love. I installed a new speedometer in 2000. The car was repainted in white acrylic lacquer in 2002. A rebuilt overdrive transmission was added in 2006 utilizing one from a 1967 MG car. The seats are totally new, every single bolt in the engine compartment is stainless steel, the master cylinders, intake manifold, and heat shields are powder coated, the car has an aluminum bonnet, stainless steel prop rods, silicone brake fluid in all hydraulic systems, rear shock tube conversion, a backseat from a 67 MGBGT, working Lucas headlights, even an I-pod ready remote control stereo CD system; and on and on and on……….This baby comes with a black 20 lb fiberglass Snugtop hardtop, the Stowaway top, tonneau cover, etc. She has Pertronix electronic ignition, 60 spoke chrome wheels, a console with working cigarette lighter and speaker, even the aluminum windshield frame has been hand polished to look chrome. As I said, the features are endless. Even the undercoating on the car is painted. If you are wondering about rust – no such thing exist on this car. How does it run and handle? Good luck finding one better. The reason I am selling this car is because I have thoroughly enjoyed my years with her and it is time for someone else to do the same. I have a TR3 that I am moving out of storage and back into my garage and I need that space. I have also purchased an old Mercedes as my new restoration project. My name is Charlie and you are welcome to email me or call with any questions. Please leave a number if I am unable to answer your call. 865-617-9675. Good luck and thanks for your interest!
