This was my brothers car, he has owned it since new. He was very dilegent in its maintenance and care. I literally have a folder that is an inch thick full of every receipt and service document it has ever had since new, it has had all of its recommended services and repairs at the dealer. I'll describe every facet of the vehicle in detail so that you can be confident with your bid. I welcome anyone that wants to take it to a shop to review the vehicle's status. This is a no reserve auction, whatever the bid ends at it sells for. I also highly recommend reviewing the Autocheck full history report on the vehicle, it received a score of 90 which is amazing, the average range for this model year of cars is 70-84. Interior: 9.5/10 - The interior is near flawless, about as close as you are going to get to traveling back in time with Michael J. Fox to a subaru dealer in 2003. But then again if you are time traveling with him please do something more interesting than sit in a car at the dealer hah. Everything works, every feature and every button is in perfect condition. It has a great and simple 6 speaker cd player sound system with tweeters in the doors, all the speakers are in top notch shape. It even has a special weather band feature for those harsh weather moments. It has tons of storage compartments for all of your phones, ipods, blackberries (the fruit as well as the phone), droids (even r2d2), etc.... The seats and the carpet are in perfect shape with the exception of a small crease in the leather bolster on the drivers seat bottom (easily repaired by any upholstery shop). This car was daily driven so the floor mats do have some discoloring from use, but thats the purpose of floormats and the reason the carpet is in perfect shape. The headliner is perfect, all the glass and all of the trim is perfect with a couple minor nicks on the top of the drivers rear door panel from a dog paw or 2 (not noticeable due to the texture of the material). I just had the entire interior professionally detailed to make sure you are getting what you pay for. Exterior: 8.8/10 - The exterior is nearly as nice as the interior but with a couple more minor flaws. Like I said before this car was daily driven and loved, it was no pansy garage queen. But as you can tell from it's appearance it was well taken care of. The paint is near flawless, it shines beatifully. You really have to search to find anything wrong with it but in the interest of honest disclosure there are a few small scratches that are basically un-noticeable. There are also a couple very small shallow dings on the passenger side, and one small but noticeable dent above the drivers rear wheel well. That being said this car has never been in an accident or had any serious paint/body work of any kind. It did get some hail damage at one point about 3 years ago but it wasn't bad enough to list on the dmv records and was professionally repaired by a very reputable body shop without any painting. The bumpers are in excellent condition with a light scrape on the passenger front corner. All of the lights work and the fog lights not only look good but really help at night here in the valley. The front wipers are some expensive bosch type units that work great, and the rear wiper is new as well. The rear hatch handle has to be manually returned to closed condition, a common forester problem, it works fine though, it just doesn't spring back without your assistance. Thats it for the flaws, as you can see from the pictures it is a beautiful car and in much better shape than most foresters its age. Mechanical: 9.7/10 - I could limit this whole section to one sentence, get in, turn the key, go wherever you want. But I like to type stuff. It runs perfect, no check engine lights, no leaks, no smoke, no noises. Gets great gas mileage, I haven't ever measured exactly, but it is suprisingly good for an AWD vehicle. It is just a quiet running vehicle that shifts smooth with a long and somewhat perfect maintenance history. This forester has had ALL of it's required maintenance done with regular oil change intervals in between. It has received the full and expensive 15k, 30k, and 60k service. This includes flushing all fluids, new belts, new thermostat, etc... It has already had the updated headgasket work under warranty right after the 60k service when they noticed an oil leak, and a pm subaru sealer treatment about 500 miles ago. The transmission shifts smooth and quick, the brakes do not vibrate or squeak, and the tires roll true. The tires have about 60% life left with plenty of tread. The tread design is quite agressive and offers great traction in the rain/snow and on the corners as well. Coupled with the symmetric AWD this thing will get you just about anywhere around here. It needs nothing currently, all the maintenace is current, and all of the fluids are good. It will be up for an oil change in about a thousand miles, and then the 100k service down the road. This is one of the cleanest 2003 Foresters on the roads thanks to my brothers due dilegence with its care, and you won't find a better deal at any used car lot. Especially not with an honest history.
