Vehicle Detail

Where do I begin..Would be easier to list what is not new on my Camaro rather than what is new. I want any potential buyer to be fully informed about the vehicle. Please take the time to read this auction in its entirety. This has been a 3 year project. Full body off restore. Started with a fairly straight 68 Camaro RS with a 327ci and turbo 350. Wanted to build something that I could take to the car shows, cruise on the highway comfortably, yet still packed quite a punch. I feel I have accomplished my goal and then some. One of the hardest things was choosing a color you wont see anywhere. Every car show I go I have always been drawn to the 67-69 Camaro the 1968 being my favorite. However I always see similiar colors. I wanted something you will likely never see. The color I decided on was PPG Imola Orange Pearl. Rather than have the original body panels prepped for this beautiful paint, I opted for all new Goodmark panels. So I was starting with perfect sheetmetal. The only original sheetmetal is the roof. Everything was done properly and professionally. The RS headlights to not open automatically. You will need to install the kit. Detroit Speed sells a very nice one. I have been opening them manually. The drivetrain has approx. 800 miles on it after the break in. Car how it sits is dialed in. Fires right up, idles smooth and nasty, and doesnt run hot even in Southern California weather. Goes down the road straight. Brakes feel really good and direct. Transmission shifts flawlessly and feels very direct and true. If anyone has ever owned a T-10 transmission then you may know of the shift slop. That "slop" is null and void with this transmission. Each gear feels very direct and notchy. The Hurst Pit Kit helped alot replacing the factory plastic bushings with aluminum bushings and cotter pins. The power comes on hard from low end and pulls hard until 7,000 RPM. How it sits its making 440 HP on 91 octane and the motor was built for nitrous. That being said I have never finished installing the nitrous system because from a second gear roll even gradually laying on the throttle will fry the tires once you are in it all the way. Nitrous would simply be too much for a radial tire and I didnt want to drive around MT ET street's just to have some fun on the spray. I will leave that to the buyer to finish installing the nitrous if they feel the need for speed. The motor was built to take a 250 HP shot however that would give you well over 600 HP so better be prepared for what comes with that much power. All I have done at this point is tap and install the direct port nitrous nozzles and hardware into each intake runner. This is the more complex and in my opinion more effective way to run nitrous rather than the simple carb spray bar. To complete the nitrous you will need the nitrous lines and power wires ran. I have a 10lb nitrous bottle that was color matched to the car as well as a billet bottle bracket to mount in the trunk. You would have to drill into the trunk to mount the bracket which I was not so sure I wanted to do so at car shows I lay the bottle off to one side of trunk as if its mounted. I have nitrous switches for the interior. I had one made that says NITRO on switch cover and is red and bought a black switch as well incase that one looked better. All gauges work and are brand new. However the speedometer gauge is not connected because I misplaced the speedo drive gear and have not purchased a new one. Should be a simple project for the new onwer to install a speedo drive gear and cable. The nitrous pressure gauge is ofcourse non operational because nitrous is not installed. The interior looks and smells new. I mounted the speedometer and tachometer in the factory gauge panel. They look almost as if it came originally with them its that clean. I also mounted gauges onto the factory center console. I also have a center console armrest you can see mounted in some of the pictures. This can be mounted permanently, however I just rest it on the top since I didnt want to use screws or velcro until I decided if I want it there or not. Seats were rebuilt with new internals as well as covers. I installed 2" seat extenders since im 6'3 and needed the extra leg room. The Ididit tilt steering column is another nice addition providing more leg room for us big guys. The radio looks factory although it is not. USA audio is the make and its a 240watt tuner with ipod connection as well as hookups for cd changer. The company sells a nice CD changer that goes with that stereo. The kick panels are really nice they have Kenwood speakers mounted behind them. I used Monster speaker wire thoughout. In the rear there are Eclipse 6x9's the sound system sounds great. It is loud and clear. Im not much into bass music so if buyer is, you may want to add a amp and sub. All services were just done, changed plugs again although not needed as well as did its fourth oil change. I use Royal Purple synthetic. This car is ready to drive how it sits and have fun with. Can be entered into car shows how it sits, which is what I have done numerous times. I had exhaust cut outs installed for when i go to shows for that open header rumble. They come off and on with two wing nuts. Car sounds mean though to be honest through the mufflers. Nothing was rushed and no corners were cut. So much time and energy went into this build. I never thought this day would come that I would be selling it. However a business endeavor has presented itself and I simply need to free up the cash to pursue it. I feel I am asking a fair and realistic price. I dont expect to get what I put into it although that would be wonderful. Not in this economy. Please read below for a detailed list of all the parts that are new that I can remember. VIDEO LINKS Below is a video that I made with my digital camera.
