A true time warp back into 1970 is how this exceptional example feels and looks . This prime example has been in my collection for a bit and has been enjoyed with many trouble free miles and plenty of smiling waves from passing by motorist. I purchased this 1970 beetle from the Original owners familiy in Montecito California the richer area of Santa Barbara its were Oprah's and Ronald Regan's vacation homes are. The car I believe was purchased at Santa Barbara Van Wyk's Porsche Volkswagen dealership in Santa Barbara in 1970 and was kept in the garage for most of its life . I believe there is one respray over the factory green paint job that was sprayed in the same color about 5 years ago or so around the same time the correct 1600cc single port motor was rebuilt by a German Mechanic I was told. The paint still looks great but has its normal wear and tear, little rock chips and tiny scratches here and there. The vehicles suspension has never been modified or altered and is 100% stock it drives excellent. there are no rattles in the interior or clucks over bumps, a true pride in ownership is felt through out the whole car. It still has all of its original interior insulation and is very quiet inside which you just don't find in an old beetle anymore. I just recently spent $1200 dollars on a new front and rear brake job including new rear brake hoses new running boards and a tune up with valve adjustment, fuel filter, fuel lines , timing adjustment cap rotor and plugs and had the front suspension lubed. This classic beetle is ready for the road ! The engine still retains all of its Factory equipped California smog equipment that is still hooked up and works flawlessly even though this classic beetle is now smog exempt in California. all of the factory installed equipment for the engine is still present and in great shape all the way down to the original wiring harness and all the little brackets including the reverse light fuse holder bracket located on the ignition coil for the reverse light switch , you almost never see these things still as there almost always gone, the motor is in super clean shape and good running condition with all german parts including all the hoses. The Original rear decklid rain catcher tray in Original black paint is still there with the factory drain tubes as seen in the pics, its kind of like that through out the whole car a true time warp survivor. As you can tell from the pictures this classic has some original dealer installed accesories including the nicer skinny bumper gaurds with trim and rear Hella brand rear reflectors mounted on the rear bumper all in great shape. As for the interior it mostly all Original including the Original headliner with a very tiny tear the camera cant even pick up all the way down to the rear seat with all of its original mounting hardware and rear hardboard cover on the back of the backrest that makes the rear carpet area under the rear window a complete fold down storage area which is all there and is all original in good shape for being 41 years old the bottom rear seat has a tear the carpet is in great shape with no tears the front seat covers are in like new shape the dash pad unremarkably is in excellent shape and retains all of it factory gauges and knobs and they all work including the Heater which works awesome! The parking brake works, all the doors open and close like a new car no fitment or latch problems again this Classic beetle has been tooken care of by the Original Owner . All of the lights work, the turn signal switch cancels out with the turn of the steering wheel 2 speed windsheild wipers high beam low beam all the indicators in the speedometer works. the front seat belts are the Original VW stamped seats belts and the rear seat belts also have the Original VW stamped logos on the seat belts all of them work good to also the inside of the fenders and wheel well areas have all been professionally undercoated and look great and also made the interior noise reduction even better . the horn works like it should with the push of the steering wheel ring . This Vintage classic still has it Original rear window defroster to All of the wiring in the whole car is untouched and has never been altered in any way and is all Original except for the cassette radio installed . The front hood area is impeccable shape all the fresh air hoses and fresh air box all present and in excellent shape and all hooked up and working all of the fuel tanks hoses and vacumm lines are all there hooked up and in good shape as well. As you can see in the pictures the sound insulation panel and the Original hardboard trunk liner are there in good shape with the Original Owners Manuel and spare tire tool kit and factory floor jack This 1 owner Vintage Beetle is a 1 of a kind beauty and is ready to be enjoyed by you .
