original early 1960 Morris mini minor. the body was stripped to bare metal then repainted with original clipper blue. engine is 1100 with 060 over size pistons. kent 256 cam, isky carbon push rods. hardened lifters, balanced crank. head is 295 with rim flow valves. isky valve springs. On Mar-19-11 at 13:28:29 PDT, seller added the following information: the car comes with clear title under my name. it is PNO. floor is coated with brush on under coating. there is no rust. it has been sitting in my garage for the past 4-5 years since the resto. was completed. so i am not sure if you can make it to Mississippi San fransico Colorado etc. the final is 3.4 or 3.1 . i do not remember. i am not sure if you want to do 85mph on fwy with this mini. i would recommend higher final drive or VTEC swap. there is no buy it now nor end the auction early. also i do not call your numbers . the only reason i am selling my car is i am leaving the country. if you have questions email me. i will try my best to answer your questions. thank you On Mar-20-11 at 12:49:00 PDT, seller added the following information: the only reason i am not sure about the capability of this car doing 85 mph on FWY is i have never driven the car on FWY and i do not want to be responsible for those people who want to drive the car home getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. i drove the car last week doing 35-40 mph in my neighborhood and it runs fine and stops fine. Q 'im interested in buying the Mini to use for local travel around NYC. Can you tell me: What kind of gas mileage does it get city/hwy approximately? A it depends on how you drive it. if you are easy on gas you should get around 40mph or so. Q. With the engine mods, is it "streetable," meaning is it OK for a daily driver, does it idle OK, is it easy to drive, or does it have quirks? A. 256 is very mild cam. it idles smooth. and revs-up smooth too. i did not have any trouble driving the car last week around the block. Q. Do you know what the compression is? A. engine / car has less than 20 miles since resto. was done 4-5 years ago. so i would assume it has decent compression ratio. i can not move the car out from my garage today due to rain so i can not check. i will check tomorrow if weather is good. Q.What would you expect it to need down the road, in terms of repairs or maintenance? A. i spent over $12,000 for parts alone and i used all new / rebuilt parts so i think you do not need that much repair soon. Q,If I buy it, can you give me info about where to source parts, and other resources? I am a decent wrench but don't know anything about Minis -- have had Triumph GT6 and Spitfire and a bunch of motorcycles, VW's, etc. A.please use google search. please !
