Vehicle Detail

A 2005 Limited Edition, faux wood paneled, turbo, automatic PT Cruiser. Cd player and cassette player Sunroofpower windows, doors and locksleather and cloth seats70K miles5 seat, 4 doortinted windowsAc/ heater works great19 mpg City/ 26 freeway (Kelly blue book) This car is great. I bought it in '07 from a car auction in Florida at 14930 miles, and had it rebuilt at a body shop in the area I'd used multiple times before. The last six photos (14-19) were taken after I bought the car, but before it got fixed up. As you can see it was only hit slightly and the air bags didn't even go off. After it was fixed up in Spring '08 it was inspected and certified. I also took a picture of the rebuilt sticker (picture 11), so you can see it. Alot of the miles on this car are "highway miles". In Spring '08, I drove it 6000 miles all around the east coast and the midwest, then in Fall of that same year I drove it out to California for FL about 3000 miles. This cruiser's been well taken care of, interior has hardly changed since I got it, and the oil has been changed regularly. After the accident I've only had two minor problems: When I was driving around the east coast I had some issue with the passenger side foot tire, which was fixedAnd I just replaced the camshaft position sensor, which I read goes out periodically on these modelsSo other than those things there hasn't been an issue with it. It does need knew tires, however, a plastic cover for the passenger side wheel well and the check engine light is on, but it's been running great. I drive it long distances to work all the time. Kelly Blue Book puts this model at at a much higher price than what I'm selling mine for. It's an awesome deal. ************* Personal delivery also available for $0.50 /mile. I'll drive it to you. ************* Here's a question I got last time I listed it: Q: I'm not clear on wheter the title is clear or salvage. You listed salvage but then you said "Kelly Blue Book puts this model at a much higher price than what I'm selling mine for. It's an awesome deal." From KBB "A vehicle with a branded title (salvage, flood, etc.) or unsubstantiated mileage is considered "poor." Kelley Blue Book does not attempt to report a value on a "poor" vehicle because the value of cars in this category varies greatly." Are you listing your car KBB's value as fair or good? If so does that mean that the title was salvage but is now clear? Do you receive a new clear title when the car is certifed as rebuild? I don't have any expirence with non clear titles so if you can please clarify this for me I would appreciated it. thanks Mar-07-11 A: This is a salvage title. However, a similar car with the added features and mileage that mine has would be probably about $6,600, if it wasn't a rebuilt. That's what I meant by saying Kelly Blue Book values my model higher than what I'm looking to get from it. As far as how the salvage title works, once it gets in a wreck and the insurance company claims the car as a loss it's deemed as a "totaled" car, sometimes even if it isn't really beyond repair. This one, as you can see from the pictures, didn't even set the airbags off. And when it gets fixed up you have to drive it down to the DMV and then they have special techs go over the car to review the repairs and certify that the car has been effectively rebuilt. It then gets a rebuilt or a salvaged title. I also had it smogged after I drove it out to California in '08. But when a car gets a rebuilt title it can never be given a "clear" title again. So it will always be worth less because of the salvaged title, even if it had low miles and is in fair condition. Hopefully this helps. -Steve On Mar-17-11 at 11:18:01 PDT, seller added the following information:Note* I was driving the car around yesterday and noticed it creaked sometimes when I was driving over uneven ground. My thought is that it might also require new struts or shocks eventually, but I guess that's normal for a car with just over 70K miles.
