For sale is my 1973 240 Z hatchback. I purchased this car in 1974 with 8,000 miles on it in Danville, Va. Today it has 165,000 actual miles. The Z is in good condition and has been mechanically maintained but NOT restored. The data plate on the drivers door reads: Manufactured by Nissan Motor Co., LTD. Date: 3/73. To my knowledge, there are no problems with the motor or transmission. The motor runs fine and the original 4 speed transmission shifts great. The car has a brand new starter and has been repainted the original blue Z color . Undercarriage work such as new floor pans and shocks/struts has been done and the car has 4 chrome wheels ($1000. many years ago price) with Goodyear All Season Radial tires. This 1973 model did not come with air conditioning and a sunroof has been professionally installed . This 38 year old 240 Z car would be a great car for Z collectors to restore and enjoy. I have very much enjoyed owning and driving this car and still drive it to work and the golf course. Its time to pass it on to a younger generation to enjoy. I thought it would be helpful to post the mechanics comments and findings. He pointed out two things: 1. there is an exhaust leak . 2. He pointed out one rust spot under the car. The rust spot was photographed and has been posted to the auction pictures along with many others. The mechanic also said the paint job on the Z was as "good as a manufacturer job" and that the engine "runs great." He commented on the "rareness" of the Z and said it looks great!
