Vehicle Detail

For auction is my boyfriend's first car, a 1966 cutlass 442 clone built from an F85 hardtop. It's currently in great mechanical shape and is a daily driver. I dig it. Even though it's rough to ride in. Enough from the chica though, here's what HE has to say about it. The body is straight but for the odd small dent here and there. It has no major rust problems, has largely been garaged during winter months since 1998, and is a fine vehicle for a project. Yess the "P" word. It has no interior to speak of, I mean all the parts are there minus a headliner and the carpet but it isn't pretty. The seats need re covering, I tore it all out to check out the floor pan, and found that it could use a floor pan. But thats the worst of it and ive crawled all around this beast over the years. It' s all pretty standard fare really. Oh, it's paint isnt pretty either. It'd make a good bracket racer, AS IS! What is pretty sweet is that the trunk is solid and dry, and as you can see in the pictures it doesnt need quarters. Or a hood. Or ANY major body surgery. (except for the rust on the floorpan that you can kinda see in the interior pic) It also has newish tires (See that clean, deep tread in the quarter panel pic? They're like brand new!), serviced brakes, new KONI shocks and springs (great stance as you can see), a high volume water pump, decent hoses, new starter wiring harness (including the tarry heat resistant sheath) and a master cylinder. It's also been converted to power brakes. Those tires? They're BFG Radial TA's riding on some old 15 inch cragars. They are wide all around too. I kinda regret not getting smaller ones up front (for looks), but they dont rub at all. Plus the thing runs strong. Compression is consistent. The motor is 30 over so it can be rebuilt eventually, it's crank is machined for conversion to a 4 speed manual (big plus). It's an early 70's "G" head 455 motor with hardened valve seats in the heads. It runs great on cheap gas too, and will spank most of the turboed or swapped hondas out there. (running on good ol' 87 octane) On that note, it's built from a base model F85 so it will always be lighter and faster than an equivalently equipped 442 or cutlass :) See? awesome bracket racing material! The TH400 tranny is worked over, but doesnt have a shift kit. Just upgraded parts. It shifts strong, and is coupled to unknown gears in a 12 bolt posi rear end. It currently has ram air headlight bezels installed, we have the dual light ones though if you don't dig the racer look. We dont have an airbox though, its just for decoration. Umm is there anything else I'm forgetting? I dunno. God I hate to see this go. The car had interest at $3400, but its gotta go by the 16th, so bid away at this price! and do right by my car... please? Edit: The last pic is the transmission cooler, and my dad who initially did lots of work on this car with me back in the day (converting to power brakes, wiring) says you can call him to talk about the car, 253-756-0838, after 7 pacific time, ask for Sam. No, I will not be lowering the price in the future, it has to go at this price because its what I owe the 16th on my financial aid. It's a muscle car that runs and is in fine mechanical shape. If you think im being unfair asking for $1900, find a running, driving big block car in YOUR area and tell me what its going for! Im trying to get back in school, and this is a DEAL. Go book it... Its worth over 3k in POOR shape. As for shipping, i'd say find a truck and rent a car trailer from u haul. it'll be way cheaper and more fun that way, even with gas the way it is. Unless you like live in Texas. Or Florida. Or Maine. +-$650 for a professional car carrier might be the way to go in that case. Still, $2500 for a bondo free big block runner that doesnt need patch panels or a ton of repairs to be solid isnt bad at all, you gotta admit! Item was relisted due to a suspected scammer that hit "buy it now" and tried to ship it to Africa or something. If you have near zero feedback, please contact us before you bid! Got some current shipping rates: $780-850 to great lakes, $800-875 to NY, Houston or Memphis. I've been repeatedly told that those prices are only guaranteed for a week, as the prices are likely to climb very soon. Could be a $200-300 difference in a matter of a week or so, so help my education out big time and save a few hundred bucks by buying it this go round! I promise you, the price isn't going any lower. Ive added a better interior pic, and added a rusty floorpan pic. The seats are all that busted up, but are all included anyway since for some reason you guys seem to want them. I'd bin em personally. I guess you could fix em up, I mean nothing is wrong with the seat frames. The rusty parts in the qp pics are the old nasty exhaust pipe, not the frame. The frame is great. The exhaust, is holey. Needs replacing. But you wanna pick your own mufflers anyway. Right? Relisted AGAIN because of another fraudulent buy it now offer from a zero feedback, registered today member. Once again DO NOT BID if your account is not well established unless you have contacted us. We've lowered the "buy it now" price to encourage someone to take it, becasue these fraud attempts have wasted a lot of time. The starting bid as promised wont budge!
