1971 Cadillac Coupe deVille A Beautiful Original ´ 37,095 original miles. Always garaged. ´ All original: white vinyl top over white lacquer paint, white leather upholstery, red carpet, red dash. ´ Stock 472 cubic inch GM big block, with Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. ´ Turbo Hydra-matic automatic transmission. ´ Power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, six-way power front seat. ´ Original AM/FM Stereo radio with foot controlled signal-seeking switch. ´ Power steering, four-wheel disc brakes. History ´ I am basically the second owner of this car. Mr. Joe Mahoney bought it new from Brogan Cadillac in New Jersey in 1971. Since Mr. Mahoney was well along in years at the time of purchase, he drove it very seldom, and kept it garaged. Joe passed away in 2000. The car was purchased from his estate by a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and I bought it from him in April 2003. It was delivered to me with 15,212 original miles on it, and was still fitted with the 1971 Firestone Sup-R-Belt, Deluxe Champion L78-15 bias ply whitewalls from the showroom, with half the original tread remaining. This car is in excellent mechanical condition. I have put 22,000 miles on it in the last 8 years, including a 6,000 mile coast-to-coast round trip. It runs like new, whether on long trips or around town. The engine is very strong, the transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes are great, the AC blows very cold, and all the power options work. The glass, paint, interior, and vinyl top are all original. It uses no oil, and doesn’t leak any fluids. The garage floor under it is spotless. It passes emissions testing every year. I love this car, and would not consider selling it if I had not been laid off in 2010. It is available for inspection. Please contact me with any questions. Wear/Issues The front seat leather is worn and cracked (see picture.) The rear seat is in excellent condition. There is a small split in the vinyl on the front passenger arm rest (see picture.) The weather strip on the rear passenger window is split (see picture.) There are a couple of small surface rust spots on the left front hood (see picture.) Improvements Some of the the mechanical maintenance and updates I have done to the car since April 2003 include the following (I have receipts for most of these): ´ Installed 5 Firestone 235/75/15 FR721 Wide Whitewall tires, May 2003. ´ Replaced front and rear coil springs. ´ Replaced front and rear shock absorbers. ´ Replaced idler arms and pitman arms ´ Replaced upper control arms. ´ Replaced all belts and hoses. ´ Replaced radiator, thermostat, and radiator cap. ´ Rebuilt carburetor. ´ Replaced battery and battery cables. ´ Replaced air conditioner compressor and clutch. ´ Replaced air conditioner drier/accumulator. ´ Replaced motor mounts front and rear, replaced transmission mount. ´ Replaced both front brake calipers/pads. ´ Replaced spark plugs, plug wires, coil, distributor cap, and rotor. Installed K&N air filter. ´ Replaced alternator. ´ Replaced headlights with halogen bulbs. ´ Replaced all stereo speakers ( two 3.5” front and two 6“ X 9” rear) with Pioneer speakers.. ´ Installed Pioneer CD player/ FM/AM tuner in trunk, along with Pioneer 12 disk CD changer, and XM satellite radio receiver, with remote controls. ´ Installed 5 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 RWL P255/70R15 108S tires November 2005.
