The R5 TURBO II is a factory mid engine set up with 1.4L intercooled TURBO CHARGED 4 cylinder engine and five speed close ratio transaxle. Renault built the R5 TURBO II on a standard Renault 5 chassis to comply with Group 4 homologation for racing. In the 1980’s the R5 TURBO II competed and won many races in the WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP around the world. Weighing in at less than 2,500 pounds the R5 TURBO II with its mid engine set up, wide wheel base and tires and high revving engine it is a blast to drive on the street or at the track. This R5 TURBO II has spent its whole life in Arizona (VIN # VF1822000D0000868). The car needs to be restored to be drivable and is currently disassembled. This R5 has very low mileage (5,000KM). This R5 TURBO did sit outside for 20 years here in Arizona under a carport so the paint and interior is worn and sun burned in the Arizona climate. The body is not rusty and in very good condition for the cars age. The R5 TURBO is a VERY rare car and this is your opportunity to restore or convert to a full track car. PATRICK MOTORSPORTS dissembled most of the car. This included the fuel system, gas tanks, intercooler, radiator/cooling system components, brake system, suspension system, oil lines, exterior trim pieces, exhaust system, engine and transmission. PATRICK MOTORSPORTS also preformed a leak down as followed: 1=8% 2=2% 3=2% 4=2% The transmission does shift through all the gears. This R-5 has been disassembled, cleaned and is ready to start the restoration process. A detail list of PATRICK MOTORSPORTS recommendations is available on request. With the CARB certified sticker the R5 TURBO is a great collector’s piece or set up correctly an awesome track car!
