1992 Jaguar XJS-12 Convertible "AS NEW 35,650 Miles" Most spectacular looking & driving V-12 I have ever seen! Exterior: Brooklands Green (Has dark metallic in the paint and almost appears black in certain light) Interior: Biscuit Leather (tan) Convertible Top: Original Tan Hartz Canvas top Mileage: 35,650 Actual Miles Serial Number: SAJNW4842NC181175 Engine: Original Aluminum 5.3 liter V-12 This car was delivered to a Mr. Robert Madden in Leveadia, California by Performance Jaguar Company in San Diego, California on April 16th, 1993. Include are the original Jaguar owners handbook, the gold Jaguar Royal Charter care card and passport to service warranty book and both Jaguar radio code cards. When you see this car in person and drive it, it looks and feels like a car with 3,500 miles and not 35,000. It is by far the nicest V-12 Jaguar from this era I have ever seen or driven. When you first enter the car and the Convertible top has been up a few days it still has the new car leather aroma. It is hard to realize that this is a car that will be 20 years old in 2012. The car starts up immediately with out touching the accelerator pedal. It idles so smooth it is hard to hear this incredible 12 cylinder running. A little about this Aluminum V-12 Engine: The XJS convertible is powered by a 5.3-liter aluminum V-12 engine that develops a silky-smooth 263HP There is only one gearbox available, a General Motors Turbo 400 three-speed automatic. This drivetrain delivers what seems like sedate performance, but 0-to-60 mph comes up in a shade under 10 seconds. It also delivers reasonable fuel economy, about 15 miles per gallon in the city and 19-20 mpg on the highway. This XJS is at its best at higher speeds. It feels downright muscular accelerating from 50 mph to 70 mph. Because it settles into a cruising mode so quietly, you have to strain to hear the engine running..it real is whisper quiet. This V-12 - is the only one available in this convertible - and develops most of its power after 4,000 rpm. It can be safely revved to 6,700 rpm. The last Jaguar V12 engine was produced on April 17, 1997. Driving this car on the highway at a steady 70mph will average 20mpg. The top is full power and when you lower the top the rear windows lower automatically. All the power windows and both power seats work perfect. The air-conditioning blows ice cold and there are no warning lights lit on the dash. The dealer installed a special alarm system. It locks and arms the system from the remote control and disarms and unlocks the doors as well. It also has an interior motion sensor. I spent 30 minutes going over the entire exterior of the car and could not find a single ding, scratch or dent in the body. I was able to locate one very small spot (the size of the end of a ball-point pen) that was touched up. You can see the photo with a screwdriver held next to the area so you can see how small of an area we are speaking. The engine compartment is immaculate. The hood pad is the original factory pad. This is a good indication of the type of highways and climate this car was driven . There are photos showing the original factory fenders with the factory serial number stickers still attached. The carchex report verifies this car has not been involved in any accidents. The paint on this car appears to be all original but yet the car is in showroom condition. The bumpers, both front & rear do not have any marks or nicks showing just how carefully this Jaguar has been pampered from day one. The Interior is incredible. It looks like whoever used this car must have put towels on the seats or perhaps they had sheepskin covers protecting them. The carpeting both in the car, behind the seats and in the trunk looks new. The wood in the dash is not faded or cracked. It is gorgeous. The convertible top and rear glass window are factory original. They top looks and feels amazing...for to be in this kind of condition after 19 years is very unusual. The top is not faded and has no tears and shows no sign of age or wear. I honestly don't think this car was ever driven in the rain and it certainly has never been left outside. If it had it could not be in this type of condition. The chrome wheels are beautiful. No rust or pitting. Speaking of rust there is not any rust we could find on this car. The undercarriage was undercoated when the car was delivered and I have included several undercarriage photos in the auction. The chrome is perfect-no pitting. The glass is perfect-no chips or scratches. You can buy a new Jaguar Convertible for $80,000 to $110,000 (Supercharged) and in 3 years it's worth half of what you pay. Or you can buy this timeless classic in MINT condition for a fraction of a new one and in 3 years it's value will have appreciated and not evaporated into thin air. Also, collector car insurance for this vehicle is $250-$300 a year. The insurance for a new Jaguar Convertible is 5 to 7 times as much...depending on your driving record.
