Vehicle Detail

1970 Jeep Renegade CJ5 Low reserve listing set at starting bid. Please bid to own, and ONLY if you plan on following through with the purchase. Thank you! This is a very nice, very clean truck just completed going through a restoration. Original 225 c.i. Dauntless (Buick) V-6 just rebuilt with stainless steel ($1000 alone) marine crankshaft assembly. New exhaust. All other drive train assemblies have had oil change (differentials, transfer, etc). One inch (1") lift get's it up just right to clear the bigger wheels without having to jack it up too high. Keeps center of gravity low so that it handles better off road. All new paint, all new custom graphics, new vinyl top. New highback seats. New black carpet flooring looks great. New brushed aluminum steering wheel w/Jeep logo. COMES WITH: almost new soft doors in EXCELLENT condition. Also comes with 1 gal. extra paint for touch ups if needed. This is a custom color. 4-SPEED (plus reverse) gearbox, not the much more common 3-speed. 4 wd system works great, transfer, locking hubs, etc. Updates include: DISC BRAKE conversion for front wheels (came with drums originally). Single steering rod conversion works much better than original dual type. Dual fuel tanks. I've had this little guy up to 65mph and it tracks straight and true. Brakes work excellent. NO RUST IN ALL ORIGINAL STEEL BODY--two very small holes in floor gusset underneath driver side floor (not the floor pan, just the gusset)--this was a very straight AZ rust free body with minimal work needed before paint. All original steel was perfect---no fiberglass needed. Original fenders never cut or modified with all original steel fender/wheel lips. Includes very nice front tow bar (easily detached). I've towed this CJ behind my truck using this and it works perfectly; I could hardly tell that it was behind me. This is an extremely efficient and easy way to move the Jeep to and from your destinations if you don't decide to actually drive it there. Once you're there you've got a really nice, powerful, street legal 'knock around' vehicle to use on street or trail. Rear 2" ball & hitch for towing a small trailer behind if you want. New FULL roll cage, new soft bimini top. Nice vintage aluminum wheel and tire combo. This truck starts easy, warms up quickly, runs very strong down the road. It's a surprisingly quick little truck and is fast enough for highway travel. Will climb anything and is tough as nails just like all vintage Jeeps are. Keep in mind that CJ-5's are small, light, and very manueverable. Only issues I've found are: no radio (but there is a space in dash and new antena for one), needs heater cables connected, water temp guage on dash not functioning (new sender in block and guage on dash should work but there may be a problem with the connection?) windshield wipers do not operate but everything appears to be there and looks almost new, and parking brake needs to be hooked up. Original front fuel tank lines are not connected at this time. Vintage speedo on dash is a new one off of ebay so I have no idea of actual miles. Horn not hooked up. May need new rear back up light switch as they are new & don't light up when in reverse. Right rear blinker does not blink, but all other running, head, side, stop, turn lights function properly, and these all look new. THIS TRUCK IS ROUGHLY THE SAME SIZE AND JUST A LITTLE MORE WEIGHT THAN A YAMAHA RHINO. For roughly the same money as this rugged, street legal classic, why buy some clapped out side by side plastic Japanese UTV that can barely go 35mph on the street, when you could have this restored ALL STEEL V-6 powered appreciating classic instead? Will fit into your toy hauler in roughly the same space and weighs almost the same. Actually, it's not even as tall as a Japanese UTV so it will fit even easier under those upper beds at the ramp area. Southern Arizona rust free, corrosion free. A great little CJ that's a blast to drive, and looks super cool as well. Although not perfect (keep in mind that it is, after all, 41 years old), I invite you to check out every other CJ-5 that is on ebay right now, or even your local craigslist for that matter, and then compare all of them to this truck at this price. Almost everything else has been beaten to death, rolled, rusted out, chopped up, rock crawler modified, etc, etc. I'm fairly confident that you'll agree with me that this is a total deal. Clear notorized AZ title in previous owners name is ready to transfer to new owner. Bill of sale provided as well. WILL NOT END AUCTION EARLY --- DON'T EVEN ASK. Located in New River, AZ just 30 miles north of downtown PHOENIX right off I-17 fwy. Please call Mike at 623-465-0636 with any questions. On Mar-05-11 at 16:30:24 PST, seller added the following information: Hello everyone--I've had many, many emails asking for type of transmission, transfer case, steering box, etc. All I could find out was that the steering box is a Saginaw. I do not know the type of transmission, transfer case, or gear ratios of differentials. Here's what I know: 1st gear is a granny gear with no synchro, and fourth will take this little guy up to 75-80 mph (but motor would be screaming it's guts out at that speed). Synchros in 2nd, 3rd, 4th gears work excellent with no grinding unless you are sloppy with the clutch or try to shift too quickly. Transfer case gears shift very smoothly in and out of 2H - 4H - 4L either up or down, in or out. I am a hard core dirt bike rider, and I know all about transmission ratios, (close, wide, optimal, etc) and all I can say is that these gear ratios are PERFECTLY spaced, and whatever this combo of engine, transmission, & differentials are--they're PERFECT and make this jeep work exactly as it should on or off the road. I haven driven a lot of 'turds' in my life, and let me say that this is definitely NOT one of those. I know the new owner is going to enjoy this Jeep immensely. On Mar-06-11 at 08:44:01 PST, seller added the following information: Tire size is 31x10.5x15. Lots of emails from potential buyers regarding the procurement a loan from their credit union, bank, etc. to pay for this. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM SOMEWHAT FLEXIBLE AS TO HOW YOU PAY ME, BUT I WILL EXPECT YOU TO FOLLOW MY GUIDELINES AS TO WHEN YOU PAY ME. I do not want to wait around for someone to 'get a loan'. Please have your financing IN PLACE prior to buying this Jeep. Also, please make sure that your husband, wife, girlfriend, mother, etc. is cool with you buying this BEFORE you bid. The possibility of you going through a case of 'buyer's remorse' is NOT my problem. This has happened to me before and I am definitely not cool with this. Thanks for your understanding.
