Vehicle Detail
1965 CHEVY II NOVA ONE OWNER 36,000 ORIGINAL MILES We’ve all heard stories about the little old lady with a low mileage, all original car she purchased new and only drove it once a week to church, shopping, and in this case…to the bowling alley! In 1965 Carol Hale was 24 years old. She went down to Midwest Chevrolet in downtown Tulsa and bought this little Nova off the showroom floor (which is ironic, because Carol didn’t have a drivers license…today she is 69 years old and has never had a drivers license!) She then promptly gave the car to her Mother, Mrs. Hale as a gift. Mrs. Hale drove the little Nova until her passing in 2003. Carol had kept the Nova titled in her name all these years. After Mrs. Hale passed away, her son Bob took possession of the Nova because his sister Carol didn’t drive. Unfortunately, Mrs. Hale didn’t have a garage, and the poor little Nova had to sit outside all of these 46 years. The elements weren’t kind to it, and the paint, upholstery, and all rubber parts have suffered. The good news is that I can’t find any rust in this car, only surface rust. The floors, door jambs, quarter panels, trunk, etc, are all solid. Bob recently installed a new gas tank, fuel pump, tune-up, battery, belts, hoses, and 4 new radial tires. The little 194 C.I. 6 Cylinder/Powerglide starts right up and runs good. The car is a dependable little driver, but it’s going to need a total brake job and front end bushings right away. The Mexican blanket in the back seat is hiding the sun damaged package shelf, and the top of the backseat is destroyed also. The headliner is missing, and there is duct tape on the drivers seat back. All of the glass is good…windows roll up and down good, and the doors shut with a wonderfully solid “chunk” sound. The speedometer/odometer works accurately, as do all of the gauges. The mileage of 36,000 is hard to read, but there is a 3 behind the speedometer needle. The heater works great, and the glove box light still works. The dealer supplied tissue dispenser is hanging on the dash. The dual outside mirrors are not on the car, but I have them. The original Midwest Chevrolet license plate frame is still on the car. The underside of the trunk lid shows the original Mist Blue paint. I bought the car from Bob about a month ago. He had Carol sign the title over. I haven’t put it in my name yet…the new owner will have the bragging rights of being the second legal owner. I had fully intended to restore the Nova back to showroom new condition like the one shown in the first picture, but sometimes life gets in the way. This little Nova will need a total restoration, but it will be an easy one…and you can drive the car while you are restoring it. I’ve saved the best for last…This little Nova comes with a lot of original documents and literature: - All the Dealer Shop Manuals and Wiring Diagrams. -Several original Showroom Sales Brochures. -The original 1965 Title along with a clear, green Oklahoma Title in Carols’ name. -The first eleven years of Registrations in Carols’ name. -The original Owners Manual. -The original PROTECT-O-PLATE in Carols’ name. WILL ONLY SELL TO THE UNITED STATES. QUESTIONS? CALL LARRY AT 918-371-9122.
