This is an Mini 1000. It has a 998, dual SU carbs, and a pair of K&N filters. All of the gauges are SMITHS and the speedometer is in MPH. It has leather seats and retrofitted seat belts. The chrome gas cap, and Mounteny steering wheel and racing alloy rims were added by a previous owner. He also stated that he modified the exhaust with a stainless system. I never confirmed this, but the rear picture does show dual pipes. The old engine and transmission has been swapped for the one in the picture. I purchased them as a complete unit. The engine turns, but was never started as my mechanic quit the job before the project was finished. I completed the project enough to make it roll, covered and oiled the engine, but unfortunately I cannot finish it myself because I live in another state. From what I can see all of the parts are there, but there may be still missing something here or there. This car used to drive well. I made a number of long distance trips from NY to Southern PA and north to London, Canada. The last English tag sticker is still on the car and dates it was in England in 2000. I drove the car until NY inspection expired in 2005, and the engine swap carried into 2006. The leather seats are in reasonable condition, but the driver’s seat has a small split seam as shown in the pictures. Everything else in the condition that what would be expected for a car garaged for a while. I tried to take enough pictures to better document the current condition. At this point, this is a project car. It has a lot of upgrades to the standard 998, but has been sitting so the age is showing. I would expect the new owner will have to a restoration and full paint job. I do not have the expertise for body work, but the couple of people I have showed the car said it has nice potential. Car is titled in NY as an 71 Austin. I forgot to write down the VIN before I left NY, but the import tags can be seen in the pictures. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping.
