I have had someone voice their concern about the carfax on the Mustang so let me explain. Mustang speedometers only can show 99,999 miles before rolling over and going back to zero. In North Carolina there is a place on the title where you can check if the miles on the car exceed the mechanical limits. This is in place of recording the miles on the title. Ebay's carfax service evidently records this as an odometer discrepancy. I am not trying to pass the car off as a 25,000 mile creampuff so this shouldnt be a problem. The only other scenerio where there is an odometer discrepancy is if one person records the title with 150,000 miles then the next owner records it with 50,000 miles. Either way this should not be a problem. The car has more than 100,000 miles on it. Its almost 25 years old. I hope this clears up any misunderstandings. I was also looking at the odometer today and it says 86,000 or so, so I am sure its 186,000 assuming the speedo hasnt been changed. 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 Coupe 5 speed. Newer paint but does have two small dents i couldnt get to show up with a picture. Both are small. 1 is above passenger door and the other is above handle on drivers door. Both arent very noticable. It also has a place on the front bumper where someone scaped something and chipped the paint. Its about a $150 fix to have the front bumper painted. The interior is in great shape. It could use a light cleaning but the map light works, the drivers seat doesnt have the usual hole in the side bolster and even the ash tray door works. Car is completely rust free. The torque boxes look great. They arent ripped like alot of mustangs. Car is pretty much a stocker. Even has the stock air box and silencer. It has new exhaust including equal length shorty headers, off road h-pipe, dynomax mufflers and flowmaster polished stainless steel pipes. It has the newer t-5 that has a higher torque rating. It has a new clutch, new flywheel from napa, new pressure plate, new throw out bearing, and new rear main seal. It has a gear in the rear. Its eaither a 3:73 or 4:10. I didnt put it in so im not sure. It has the gear replace so the speedo isnt off. It has a new speedo cable. Brand new high performance tires. $125 a piece. Has new door seals. Has a new pioneer cd player with new speakers. I will say that it needs new rear end bushings. Just like all mustangs the old rubber ones are worn out and need replaced. They are about $100 bucks for all new polyurethane bushings. Has new brakes. A/C, heat, cruise, power locks, and power windows all work great. Has new door lock actuators. New headlights. Has tilt wheel. Car runs great with no smoke. It is missing the 5.0 plaque that goes on the intake. They are about 20 bucks on ebay. Has new fuel injectors. This is a well maintained southern mustang with no rust. Its not a show car but it looks very good. Like I said it has newer paint. It is black in color with a reddish metal flake. Its like pearl. You dont see it unless its in a certain light. Car would make a great daily driver or a good foundation for some mods. Email me with any questions.
