Vehicle Detail

This car has been in the same family from the time it was just a few years old. I bought it from the son who said he added the mopar aluminum intake, 600 holley, and headers but never got around to finishing the car up. It would make an easy restoration project or with very little work can be driven as is. It has the original paint so you can see what you are getting. The vinyl top has been removed so you can see it has a few small rust places at the back near the top of the rear glass, and one small place at the top of the windshield. The only other place on the car is a small place behind the left rear tire. I have included these spots in my pictures. The chrome is great other than a small place on the left front fender trim, and the bumpers look like new. The inside needs a headliner and carpet. I'm including an extra dash pad I found for it, its not perfect but a lot better than the one on the car. I was told the heater core is unhooked because the heater hose got down on the header and burnt a hole in it, I found the old hose in the trunk so I believe thats what happened. The odometer is at 54,000 and the title shows the mileage as exempt (over 20 years old) so I'd guess its 154,000. It is a tight and solid car that is running and driving. I bought the car because it was an easy restoration project, but I ran into more than I was expecting on another car I was working on. I'm selling this one to help fund the one I've already started. On Feb-28-11 at 15:15:26 PST, seller added the following information: I've had a few people ask what engine came in the car and based on the vin number this car came with a 273 V8. I used a year one book to check it and it showed a D (5th) being a 273 in 68 and 69. From what I was told and can see it still has the original engine in it. The book said the engine ID numbers were under the front of the drivers side head but I don't see them so they must be behind the ps pump. If you know another way to check it without taking the pump off let me know and I'll try. The intake is a Mopar unit and has Mopar stamped on the top front of it just in front of the carburetor, and the carburetor looks to be a 600 Holley. The engine runs and sounds good but just has headers with header mufflers on it so if you buy it you might want to run the exhaust out the back. It needs a PCV hose run from the carburetor to the valve cover and a PCV valve put in the cover. It is currently plugged at the carburetor and the cover. Even without the PCV system hooked up it doesn't have any blowby so the engine seems to be tight. If you live close and want to drive and check over the car before you bid just let me know and I'll get you my address. On Mar-01-11 at 13:33:44 PST, seller added the following information: I found the engine numbers behind the headers on the side of the block and it is a 1969 273. I didn't find the vin number but I'm sure it is there. The headers are close to the block and are blocking some of the other markings on the engine. On Mar-03-11 at 15:26:51 PST, seller added the following information: I haven't had the car out on the road in a while so I got it out of the garage and drove it around some today. It still hits the road good with no bearing noise, its smooth, the front end feels tight and it drives and rides great. The transmission shifts great and the drive train (ujoints, supports, etc) feels good. The brake pedal is at the top and they feel good with no shake or pull. When I was putting gas in it I remembered it has a new gas tank and tank unit in it. It has a little hesitation in it when you first give it gas but it seemed to get better as I drove it so it might just need to be driven some. I did notice a few drips of oil under it and it looks like its comming from the oil filter adaptor so it might need a new seal on it. It could use an oil change so that would be a good time to change that gasket as well. On Mar-03-11 at 16:22:02 PST, seller added the following information: I have a few pictures of under the car but no room to add them so if you'd like to see them just email me.On Mar-05-11 at 09:26:56 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE- Oil leak is fixed, hesitation is gone, has a new PCV system, and it has been serviced. I pulled the oil filter off to check the oil filter adpator and noticed it was coming from the top of the engine and running down on the adaptor. I found the left side valve cover was bottomed out against the intake runner so I loosened all the bolts, centered it up, and it tightend up fine and sealed up. I went ahead and serviced it since I already had the filter off so it would be ready to drive. I ran a new pcv hose and PCV valve, adjusted the booster pump on the carberator, and adjusted the mixture. It runs great and isn't leaking. It's raining here so the roads are wet and I couldn't get in it much but it feels great!
