1950 Chevrolet pickup , rustfree Ca. truck . It was originally a U.S. Air Force truck (we found U.S.A.F. stenciled in white while sanding it ) then owned for years by a wealthy Ca. vineyard owner . It was basically only driven on his 80 acre property for the past 7 years or so , kept in great mechanical shape by his private onsite mechanic . It now has brand new paint in a beautiful cream/beige color (my cheap camera makes it look a little more yellow than it really is) (everything taken completely apart to paint , glass and everything taken out ) , brand new stock type brown interior with restored and working gauges , working heater , new carpet/ door panels / headliner /seat/dash chrome/all new hardware , everything nicely painted . New rechromed original grille and bumpers , new emblems /trim /glass/weatherstripping/hubcaps /mirrors/doorhandles / tailgate chains etc. etc. . Brand new wide white tires . Hand painted stock style pinstriping on cab and wheels to match color of bed wood . Custom hand made birch bed wood kit with new galvanized strips and zinc plated hardware , also custom birch "bedliner" and Douglas fir stakes . Both remove with 4 screws , takes 2 minutes if you want them out . All stained with 5 coats and then Marine Spar varnished . All new brakes , water pump , rebuilt carb . Runs , drives and looks awesome ! Super tight frontend , shifts excellent , doesn't rattle or shimmy or anything , just super nice solid driver . Fires right up , great oil pressure and runs very cool . He said the engine and trans were rebuilt roughly 5 years ago , engine compartment nicely painted and detailed . Underside nice , steam cleaned , partially sandblasted and painted chassis black . Everything new within last month or so , has maybe 5 miles on it . Gets compliments like crazy !!! Really a nice old truck to enjoy , or use as a possible business promotional vehicle etc. I reserve the right to end the auction if a deal is struck and will assist delivering to the docks if you wish to export it , I have clear Ca. title to it . I watched pretty comparable trucks sell at Barrett-Jackson auction for $30,000 to $40,000 , you can have this one for 30-50% less . I have lots more pictures , ones showing what a cherry original truck it was and ones showing all the glass and everything removed for paint as proof .On Feb-24-11 at 18:39:23 PST, seller added the following information: A few things I wanted to add : I believe the truck has the original drivetrain (engine/transmission and rearend ) it is still 6 volt , has a rebuilt stock generator with the original working horn still mounted to it (don't see them very often like that ) It has the original wiring , had the original wood and strips in the bed when I got it . It has stock 6 lug pattern and 600 X 16 tires on it . Basically the truck is all stock with the exception of the added wood in the bed .
