For sale is a 2006 MINI Cooper S GP. This is a very rare MINI, hand built in Italy in Bertone, and 1 of 2,000 made. Only 415 were ever made for the US Market and it was only manufactured in 2006 to mark the end of the first generation of the “21st Century” MINI. When the GP was released, 32 of these special MINIs were flown to Laguna Seca in Monterey for a special launch event. This car is one of the 32. The MINI Cooper S GP develops 215hp and 180ftlb of torque. It has the John Cooper Works engine, suspension, wheels & brakes. In addition to these performance upgrades, it has some additional factory upgrades specific to the GP which are: Revised Eaton Super-charger & Intercooler Higher Volume Fuel Injectors & Recalibrated Engine Management System Weight savings of almost 100lb by removing the rear seat and substituting aluminum rear control arms Anthracite speedometer & tachometer dials and Thunder Blue body color, with silver roof and red mirror caps Carbon Fiber rear wing spoiler & underbody paneling for improved aerodynamics The handling is exceptional. Razor sharp steering and throttle response. Perfect feedback from steering wheel. It is a real driver's car and will let you whip through winding roads as if it were a go-kart. This MINI has been fully dealer maintained from day one and is being sold by the original owner who picked it up at Laguna Seca. At the launch event in Monterey, John Michael Cooper was there himself and he signed the dash of this car (see pic). All service work is up to date and the GP has recently had new Bridgestone RE-050A performance runflat tires installed. The car has never been in any accident or had any paintwork.
