Vehicle Detail

1958 Super 88 Olds. Bought this car last May to resell to support my old car hobby. Last fall & winter we painted it and redid the interior. I have close to 100 pictures showing the car before we worked on it, during the resto. and since it was done. This car is very straight and almost rust free, only having a couple of small spots on the bottom of the front fenders behind the wheels, usual area for rust. They weren't rusted through and about the size of a silver dollar. We just sanded them. Body was very straight requiring NO BODYWORK. Stainless is very good, justed waxed and wiped it off with a rag, shines very good, very few very small dents. Tailights are very good, only very miminal pitting. I painted the car myself so it isn't the best job. Got the color on OK, but had several runs in the clear. I wet sanded it and then buffed it. Didn't get all the runs, if you would wet sand it again, and rebuff it, I think it would turn out pretty good. It has never been waxed so it shouldn't be too hard to do, just time comsumming . Car looks good the way it is , until you do a very close inspection, then they(runs) are visible. Reupholstered the seats, made new door panels and redyed the carpet. Carpet was good only faded. Kept the original rear seat upholstry, and a front & rear door panel in case anyone would like to take them back to original. Also painted the dash. Floors in the car are rustfree & very sound, very thick metal, would be easy to install seat belts in the car. The tires are Sears Allstate wide white walls. Must have been stored inside in a controled enviroment, as there is no weather checking. Haven't added any air to them in all these months. Mechanically, I rebuilt all the wheel cylinders, and added an electric fuel pump. Fuel side of the original pump leaked , but wiper side is ok as the wipers moved at an idle. The engine starts right up and runs very smooth. I does have some blue smoke when idling, think the valve stem seals are bad, the engine is original, and don't know if it ever has been worked on, wouldn't be surprized if it has never been touched. Only have driven a few times, only a couple of mi. from home and back, don't have insurance on it, but wanted to make sure it drove good and the transmission shifted good, witch it does in both cases. It has p/steering and p/brakes. Also has the TRANS PORTABLE RADIO. The radio hums, but no other sound, not sure it it hooked up to the antenna. This would be a great car for cruising, has 4drs. so is easy to get in and out of. If you hold the doors open a few inches and let go, they shut them selves. Car is that tight and sound. All body lines line up very good, doubt the car has ever been apart. If you have any questions or want to see more pictures, either call me @ 605-770-9263 or send me an email. Will help with shipping if necessary. will sell world wide. If you bid, be ready to buy, had someone ruin the sale of another car when they backed out of the sale. This a real business transaction and you will be held responsible, please act accordingly.. Thanks, Dale
